My early lean is to stay away from the Superbowl. Unless you're chasing, this might not be a good play except maybe the OVER. Arizona getting an early +7?! Come on how many times is Las Vegas gonna Underdog them? This is gonna turn into a trap as the line goes down to something like +3.5. This is already starting to look fishy.

#3 Posted: 1/19/2009 3:28:03 AM Wow..Great advice.. last game of the NFL season and the advice is don't bet it.. although I will say the over is the safer of the bets available. Looking at this year's playoffs, AZ is the only team with #1 receivers actually playing like #1 receivers. The Colts with Wayne and Harrison were 1 and done, and anything Steve Smith did was eradicated by Jake Delhomme's fascination with throwing to red jerseys. Larry Fitzgerald is playing possessed, Edge is playing like he wants a legitimate contract, Kurt Warner has shown that he can take cheep shots, pick apart a blitz, win a superbowl, hold a 9-2 postseason record... oh.. and with 2 weeks does anyone doubt Anquan Boldin won't be ready to give 100%? If their defense can pull out one more game of playing better than they actually are, AZ can win or at least cover. Neil Rackers has proven he's good for the 50 yarders to keep the points steady for AZ. The saying is that defense wins championships and if that's true, Pitt should grab another ring.. but AZ as a 6 point dog? Jump on it with a tease while you can...
AZ +12.5 and the over at 41 teased? If you can grab it, do it. |

#4 Posted: 1/19/2009 7:43:36 AM Pittsburgh will have no problem teeing off on what will be a one demensional Arizona attack. I think Arizona can keep it close for a while with Def and maybe a turnover or two but Pittsburgh will wear them down. I look for Parker to have a big game and the Pittsburgh def to widen a second half lead with their def. Im hoping the line stays below 7 pts, there are a lot of Steelers fans out there that could drive it over!
Steelers minus the pts and a small play on the over for me. Good Luck!! |

EXACTLY.....kid exactly.........If Pitt wins....it will be by a TD or 10 They aint playin the Ravens. Dallas fan pullin for AZ though....I really hate Pitt...never liked them.
ALSO: look for what the majority of public money goes to this week. Educated fans bet asap and will finish by this Thu or FRi. Dumbass fans and fair weather fans bet at the last minute By Wed next week and the day of and make the line go in a weird way. Ex. most of public money went on NY the 1st week against New England...but more people bet on NE at the last minute. it's Dat Dirty Devin in the 69 lookin out for ya honey |

#6 Posted: 1/19/2009 8:10:56 AM I'm a pro horseracing handicapper and I've picked the SB correctly 6 years in a row on my sharphorses.com website (my analysis will be printed next week). This year my pick is the Steelers - 6.5 and I will bet today because I expect the line to move up. Big key is Hines Ward being healthy, but either way, the Steelers will do a good job against Fitzgerald and control the clock.

#7 Posted: 1/19/2009 8:14:53 AM I can't see two Miracle super bowls in a row, but that Warner, Boldin and Fitzgerald are some combo! I've been riding the cards money train all post season But it looks like its about to turn midnight on them and they will be reduced to pumpkin status against the Steelers. Too much super bowl experience for the steelers. Im gonna watch the line a little more before I make a call, if I had to do it now, Steelers and under.
PS - Big thanks to the Cards for clipping Philly's wings! |

#10 Posted: 1/19/2009 8:51:20 AM I've hit the Cards every week in the playoffs and have them +550 to win the SB (bet it b4 Phil game). Keep underestimating them and you'll keep losing. Wisenhunt knows a little about Pitt. Take the points people. GL |

#12 Posted: 1/19/2009 10:07:19 AM I'm with you on that stalker. HUGE play on the steelers. They have covered throughout the WHOLE playoffs. Arizona thinks their going to a tea party. Pittsburgh will key on zona's WR's and control the ball like always. stay away from the over/under |

I think that Arizone has two former Steeler coaches will be a big factor here. Former coaches hold a big advantage against their former team because they know the tendencies and preferences of their former players. Look at Arizona's upset last season over Pittsburgh. |

Wouldn't that work both ways though? Obviously, Whisenhunt and Grimm are familiar with the Steelers but the Steelers are also very familiar with them and what they like to do. The offense the Steelers run now is different than the one they ran when Whisenhunt was there. That's probably why they finished in the bottom 10 in the league in rushing after being near the top throughout Cowher and Whisenhunts time there. |

#17 Posted: 1/19/2009 11:31:26 AM hey guys i see donovan played like his ysual self. what a mutt. kurt warner is 3 times the q.b as donovan mcmutt. mcnabb should be a second stringer at best. with all that being said i think troy polamulo is going to make it hard on boldin and fitzgerald, steelers win in a route.31 to 17 steelers |

#18 Posted: 1/19/2009 11:33:10 AM I wish I knew the actual trend but here are some examples.
Shannahan over the Raiders.
Zorn beating the Seahawks this year.
Camoron beating the Dolphins twice this year.
Al Saunders beat the Redskins this year.
Scot Linehan beat the Dolphins last year.
Nolan lost to the Ravens but covered.
Martz beat the Lions and the Rams twice this year.
Im tired of looking g\them up. No trends are guarentees but this is a pretty good one. |

#19 Posted: 1/19/2009 11:42:09 AM The money is just about evenly split right now, but the line dropped half a point to 6.5. This indicates the sharps are hitting Arizona. I'm going to wait to make a play. I'm not sold on the Cards. But the public should push the line toward the Steelers as we get closer to the game. Right now leaning Cards. Going with the hot team matters. Just ask the Patriots.

#20 Posted: 1/19/2009 11:43:30 AM what makes the Over a good play?
steelers have trouble scoring, and Cards Offense will be overwhelmed by the Steelers D
In my opinion this line is set way too high.
just an early lean
Steelers -6.5 and under anything north of 45 |

you know they both won their championships right?
Philly looked awful
do you think that the steelers will look as bad on superbowl sunday?
Cards D is tough but they are really nowhere near as tough as baltimore,
not seeing the Cards $ definatly going to have to look deep and hard into this one because I see the score being somewhere in the range of 30- 10 steelers |

The Cards are the hotter team. Just like the Giants were the hotter team last year. Don't make stupid arguments.
The Cards had something to do with the Eagles looking bad yesterday.
The Cards offense is much, much better than the Ravens or Chargers offenses that Pittsburgh has played.

#24 Posted: 1/19/2009 12:41:57 PM I also think the week off favors the Steelers. Arizona's offense has been really hot and i think the week off may cool Warner down some. Plus the time off normally favors the defense. |
