I expect this line to drop to or below 3 for the simple fact of what happened in VT first meeting. This time the hokies got Hall back and Taylor will be able to take some snaps. It's going to be a close game either way....right now I see a 21-17 Virginia Tech win...so depending on which way the spread teeters thats how I'll place my money...If VT is at 3.5 or less I'll pound it!!!
FOR NOW THAT MAKES IT BC+4.5 AND UNDER 47 BUT IM PRAYING THE LINE MOVES

you're gonna pound a 3.5 point spread because you think it will be a 4 pt game? heaven forbid you are off by a point...
by the way, i am pretty sure this line will go up... VT dominated the first game, and people know that... people also look for VT to be out for revenge... people also know that BC has struggled down the stretch, and VT has been dominant... line will get up to 5.5...

I'm really leaning towards Va Tech on this one. They have been playing "lights out" ball lately. Not that B.C. is playing bad....just not as "Impressive" lately. Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself "Here's my Chance to get SOME BACK".....I could use it. Please gimmie your input "either way" I'm listening !!! Thanks All !!

I believe this one is played @ a neutral site (Jacksonville, FL) isn't it? I think I'm going to go big on TECH, but I'll take any advice I get. Overall, IN THE HOLE,,,but my gut instinct has proven very accurate so far....Help me, IF YOU CAN ??? $$$$

Tech does have the REVENGE motive here, and a very STRONG one, at that.
They're taking this game very seriously, as they not only were upset and terribly disappointed at losing like they did in the last game, but were very EMBARRASSED and humiliated also, and want to right this Hokie injustice.
Everyone from the Head Coach on down, can't wait....to jerk the tailfeathers out of those arrogant, strutting peacocks....'um....i mean Eagles.
Tech's best LB is back for this game (Vince Hall missed the first one with injury) and so did T-Mobile, VT's erstwhile and 'Houdini-like' true freshmanQB.
Tech is a different offensive team (downright offensive)when BOTH QBs are well and frisky.
BC's defense presently has more bung-ups than a second-hand 'bumper car' in a demolition derby, whereas VT was the 'walkingwounded' on the first go-round.
Hokies are playing their best ball currently, and have gotten healthy, and peaked..... at the right time for what what will be an emotionally-charged PAYBACK game for the Hokies.
Boston College QB Ryan had best wear TWO.....of those shock-absorbing, 'protective vests' for this one, as I have a feeling he might not last out the game.

I really like VT as a team and I think they are one of the hottest teams in the country the last couple of weeks right up there with UGA and Missouri. However...I don't know how many more points Taylor will be able to give VT than they got last time against a pretty good damn defense. Last game they were struggling to get in the end zone and the one they did score shouldn't have even counted. Like I said...I know how crazy and stupid it sounds to pick a number and if it's below the number go one way if its above go the other...but if the line is above 4 I'd go with boston college, if its below 4 VT is my bet. I see a very low scoring affair, I think BC will actually be able to sustain more drives and have much better offensive stats than VT...but I do think VT defense with Hall in the game will be able to reverse some field position and come up with a turnover or two..get some cheap points...and ultimately win a close game.
Sean Glennon is terrible by the way

Glennon isn't terrible... i think he gets a bad rap... BUT... i do think they are better when Taylor is in the game...
VT is a better team than BC, in my opinion, and having followed VT closely for a long time, it seems like they always pick it up near the end of the year... which is the reason they tend to be one of the better bets come bowl season...
however, i would agree with CDitty that the line is probably pretty accurate... i would definitely not take BC, no matter what the line gets to, but i could see it ending up right around a 3 or 4 point game... on the other hand, could see it ending up 28-13 or 28-17 VT, and i definitely think VT will win...

Hey coverditty......Spoken like a true "gent"....What is your outlook on that game. I'll be honest w/ you. I saw a guy on here who has 3,000 plus posts (notredamus) or something. And he likes USC...What do you think bud?? I won't hold you to anything, I just appreciate your "candidness" on your posts, and your integrity towards others.. I've seen you get raw once or twice, but that's when others are "disrespectful" of your opinion....Which GOG was not.... That's why I'm gonna follow you and his posts from here on out, and put MUCH more weight to them.. Please don't think I'm stalking, should take it as a compliment (both of you), because I'm a football retard, just looking for some guidance and intelligent conversation.....Thanks guys,,,,,hope you have a profitable weekend......$

How is 13 of 19 for 260 yards (a 20 yd per completion average) plus a 200.7 passer rating 'terrible'.... in your eyes? (the UVA game) and this wasn't his best game either.
Glennon has slowly moved up to a 142.9 quarterback rating for the year, after a less than stellar start. He's now the country's 21st rated passer. That's right behind Kentucky's Andre Woodson at # 20. Woodson is considered one of the top QBs in the entire country.
I feel that Glennon has taken much undue critisicm, although it's true that he looked terrible at times through the first 6-7 games, but it wasn't his fault. We had a patched up OLine for most all that time, with key injuries, etc -- and it only started jelling (after getting back our OT Wang) about 5 games back. Now they're playing 200% better than before. We also had our starting center out several games.
Since that time though.....he's been one hot QB, and there is now no semblance to the Glennon who started the season.
This Glennon is relaxed, playing with confidence, and having fun out there. He hasn't thrown an interception in so long, it's remarkable, and very few for the year, if memory serves, it's only 5.
He's had several streaks of 6-6.....8-8.....10-11....10-13....plus the 13 of 19 -- that I just mentioned above, off the top of my head. He's also had several passes dropped that should have been caught, in those runs.
He and T-Mobile (Tyrod Taylor) seem to compliment each other well, and whatever the coaches are doing with them by alternating them frequently, and for specific plays is working well.

Thanks jaybirdy......and best of luck to you my friend.
I may miss a call on the Hokies occasionally, but they're very few and far between. Can I guarantee you a Hokie win. No way Jose....
(and I'm not intending to) but I like 'um a bunch here, and think they will prevail.
You use your own good sense, gather up all the info you can (lots of good stuff on here generally) and finally make your own decision based on your best judgement, that all any of us can do.
I like them better as a money-line bet (a SU winner) but think they will cover.

SERIOUS QUESTION......Honestly, how much weight do you put in the stats "matchup section".....VA Tech is 1-7 against the spread last 8 games, and Underdog is 7-1 against the spread the last 8 games ????? Honest opinion here.....As stated really like VA Tech, but if those stats hold much weight, that scares the sheeeet outta me. I'm starting to look into trends like that, but not very seasoned yet...Do stats like that generally get "trumped" by the TEAM's recent performances?? thx....

One of my three teams peaking or getting healthy at right time Georgia,USC and VA TECH. Going with Va Tech hope the defense dosen't throw in a clunker like last years bowl when they were also peaking nicely. Congrats Cover Ditty on your Tenn team's win gl In the championship game. Was hoping for Georgia to get by em as I think they have a greater chance of beating LSU

interesting question, Jaybirdy... i'm not sure why, but for some reason BC has had VT's number over the years... BC is still the only team to ever beat VT on Thursday night, and they have done it 3 times... i would usually say a team's performance (talent level) can overcome trends, and i think trends can be over-rated... but you do have to give it some consideration... some teams just get up for a certain team...
CDitty isn't the only person to bash Glennon... i see him getting thrashed by people all the time... he is inconsistent... but he is also a better passer than Taylor, and when he's in the game teams can't crowd the line of scrimmage against VT... they have to respect the speed of the WRs and Glennon's arm... i assume that is why Beamer platoons them...
on the USC game... 2 things you have to like about USC in that game... 1) UCLA's offense is really sad... 2) USC is playing for a Rose Bowl berth... 1 thing i DON'T like about USC... UCLA's defense matches up with them very well... their secondary is very under-rated, and playing very well lately, and they can stop the run pretty well... seems like another low-scoring UCLA game, but historically this game tends to be sort of unpredictable...

Hey coverditty.....no insult at all my friend. I simply think you are going more by the 'old' Glennon, than possibly the 'new' one (of the last 5 games). Besides, everyone is entitled to voice his or her opinion, regardless of whether others agree with it or not. There has been much american blood shed over the years, to give us that "freedom of speech" right, and I for one would fight to keep it that way. No problem there my brother.

I was wrong about Glennon having 5 picks, for the year.
He only has TWO. And he hasn't had one yet - during his hot streak of the last several games.
Up until the last five games or so, the Hokie offense was admittedly..... 'terrible', due mainly to injuries on the OLine, and having to play people out of place, etc.....plus our starting RB was consistently banged-up. The Oline couldn't seem to get any chemistry or consistency going.
They averaged a little UNDER 275 ypg of total offense, and were rated the 113th offense in the land. What's even worse, Tech's vaunted group of senior receivers didn't catch their first pass, until sometime in the second quarter of the Clemson game on Oct. 6th.
Over the last 4 games, Tech has averaged 'well over' 400 yards a game, and since the Duke game (6 games back) it was close to 400 ypg.
VT has been an entirely different team offensively..... since theOLine starters got back healthy and playing together, Ore finally got healthy, we started alternating Glennon and Taylor, and our wide receivers really started showing their awesome talents. In the first 6 games, the receivers had 47 total catches for 542 totalyards with one TD, averaging 90.3 passing ypg.
In the last 6 games, the receivers have had 74 catches for over 1200+ yards, with 12 tds, averaging over 200 ypg.
