Matt Wells 3 years experience as a head coach all at Utah St. He is a true blood Aggie as he was their QB (93-96). He probably married the head cheerleader of the Aggies (only kidding) He is 2-0 in bowl gamesand has this program on solid ground. Great job coach Wells.
Terry Bowden - 10 years coaching experience, 4 at Akron. He has a 2-1 bowl record while coaching Auburn. First time coaching the Zips in a bowl game.
Going to lose my money on the 2-0 coach and hope Chuckie Keeton closes out his career in style.
Utah State - 43 Akron - 14
Aggies -6.5 over 47.5
Zips finished the season with 4 su & ats wins, but they were against the bottom of the barrel mac teams.

I liked the under at 51 when it opened - not in love with it at 46 or 47 - however it is supposed to be raining tomorrow and that won't help Akron. I'm laying off this game as the weather is a factor. I can see Utah St. covering though, that would be a better play in my estimation. -- THE Myth

Not that I pay that much attention til bowl season but isn't the fact that Utah States OC is headed to Mizzou and their head coach is considering the same a huge factor for Akron. My skim reading has 4 factors in favor of the Zips and 2 in favor of the Aggies. Akron plus the 7 for my typical small change bet

so far ive gone 0-5 in FBS bowl games, none of them close.....if it werent for the Detriot Lions and a bunch of desperation slams on last nights MNF, i'd be on the street with the feral cats i feed, and eating iams.....
I wonder how many seniors are playing for the aggies? Zips?
Can the aggies perform outside of their home stadium?
Aggies are among the top of the nation for shutting down the pass, but they have played the Lobos,Air Force, and SDST who never pass (and lost these games)
I wonder if Boise state fans will show up and cheer against a team that anihilated the Broncos in a primetime game earlier this season
in 2012 Utah State won on the blue turf by 40 pts vs Toledo in that potato bowl, highlighted by a 250 yrd running day by current Zona Cards RB KERWIN Williams, BUT the year prior they lost the 2011 idaho potato bowl by Ohio 23-24
i really do like USU, and its hard not to bet on "made of glass" Chuckie Keeton. USU has better recruiting, better facilities, and a higher level of talent, with a few notable former players in the NFL
AKRON already won by gettting into this bowl game.

When playing in Bowl games, everyone has the same opportunity to win, with that being said, why not taking the plus 7 points with Akron. I also like the Over for this game.

Hey Nomtomcats nice writeup buddy! I like the effort and stats you put into it. In doing more in depth studying myself, and based upon the inclement weather forecast ( currently light snow and 32 degrees in Boise via the Nat'l Weather Service with 1-3 inches possible throughout the day) i find both defenses to be more than adequate.... USU is very good vs. the pass and Akron is solid vs. the run. Both have average running games and passing. Chuckie K. can be electrifying but what will he do on a slick blue turf, I don't know. I do think the team speed of USU will be big factor on both sides of the ball. All that being said i am making a small wager on USU and also the under and hope the 3 weeks off and the weather keep the scoring down. You form your own opinions! Good luck to all and happy holidays to all you 'cappers. --- THE Myth

I think the Aggies spank the Zips
USU(-7)
Like the honesty...if it wasn't for slamming the clippers getting +2 losing by 1 to OKC I'd be in the same boat. Aggies -6.5 lets reverse this trend.
