Doggs,
I
completely agree with your assessment… The
line opened at seven (7) which was spot on in my book! This will be the best defense the Noles have
faced all season and the Cards are getting healthy offensively (Dyer and Parker). There is no disputing this year’s edition of
the Noles defensively is NOT as talented as last years squad but they are still extremely fast and Will Gardner
has shown the propensity to struggle against fast defenses (see Virginia game); in addition, Reggie Bonnafon is NOT
ready for the big lights. Either way, the Cards do NOT have a signal caller on its roster with the skill set to outduel (match scores) the
reigning Heisman Trophy winner period.
With
that being said, put me down for Florida
State minus the chalk (4)
for a Nickel please. Thanks!

LIanafranks5,
Your assessment is spot on in that, typically when you see a line move three (3) or more points in professional or college football, the Books are scrambling to balance its ledger (mitigate their liability) as their bean counters feel a certain side will win/cover. In this case, the line movement suggests Louisville is the play, but you have to look at the matchup as well.
Bottom-line
in this spot, unless the Wise Men in Vegas have bought key FSU personnel i.e.
Winston and/or Fisher, Louisville does NOT have the firepower to keep up with
the Noles and three to four points in chalk is too tight of a line to mess
around with shaving points. This means
the Noles would have to flat out tank this game which I highly doubt will
happen due to the fact they are in position to clinch a final four birth and
make a run at back-to-back National Championships. Just my humble opinion…
