Michigan st has probably the best defense in cfb but Stanford has one of the best offenses in cfb and in the last 5 years offense beats defense everytime plus stanfords defense is pretty solid

Seriously?  Stanford has one of the best offenses in CFB?  They aren't even one of the best offenses in the PAC12.  Now, they are a solid football team, and I am leaning their way, but it will be because I think their defense can shut down MSU.  I mean if they can slow Oregon's offense they should have no trouble keeping MSU under 21 if they protect the ball.  Problem is, I think they stay under 21 also.  Low scoring, tight game.  Stanford played a much tougher schedule, but they had a couple of off weeks.  Bottom line for me is PAC12 is better than the Big? (isn't everyone?), and Shaw is the better coach.  I think he has the Trees ready to play.  Good game to watch, but I will bet the Cardinal lightly in a defensive struggle.  GL to all.

Michigan St +6.5

Stanford lost twice to teams that resemble MSU very closely. Also should have lost the UW game as they were simply dominated. They matchup much better against the big "O" of Asu & Ore, against whom they were very successful. Their physicality won't phase MSU.

Spartans not getting much respect. That will work for them here. It means more to Sparty, they have more to prove than Stanford as they haven't played in the Rose for 25 yrs.

Points may come in handy but I like them to win straight up.

Agreed Mac. Stanford doesn't even make the top 50 on total offense. Points may be a premium. Might be a good spot for a teaser.

This game will be won in the trenches! Whoever can dominate the line of scrimmage wins! I like the Spartans getting points.

Gun to my head I would take the points here as Dantonio lives for tight low scoring games.  However, I think David Shaw and his offense scores at least 24 points against that vaunted Spartan defense which will force Dantonio punk axx to get away from that three downs and a cloud of dust football and open up the playbook to keep pace.

Again, NO play for me on the side, but I think this deal barely creeps over the Total.  With that said, put me down for Over the Total for a Nickel please.  Thanks!

Sparty in a close but higher scoring game than most think.  Defenses will set-up points with turnovers.  Sparty 24-20 Over

Best game of the day that doesn't have some big time sponsors, white collared executive's fingers all over it.  (See UCF vs. Baylor and Iowa vs. LSU.).

Big time "D" in this game that has Michigan St looking to replace their suspended leader, Senior Max Bollough.  This will , undoubtedly, hurt a solid defensive unit but The Cardinal haven't seen a well rounded team like this all year.. Stanford won't recover early blitz, and athleticism of Spartans.

Mich. St.  27-17

the spread should really be standford -5.5. but since its 6.5 vegas believes that standford could win by a touchdown. and looking at Mich schedule there D will be put to the test.

Standford -.6.5 & OVER

Stanford has a let down mentality. Only when it doesn't matter... If they can stop oregon Offense they can stop any offense. Mich under...

MSU defense can be ran on. See what OSU did to them with superior athletes. Hyde averaged almost 7 ypc! Difference here is Stanford has a great D to shutdown a mediocre MSU offense.

Happy New Year everyone..

The loss of Max Bullough is going to have more of an impact on this game than anyone thinks..

Stanford is gonna POUND Elsworth..Gaffney is gonna be a real handful..

Result : Double teaming which will open up other options and PENALTIES, which will cause ball possession differences..

In my opinion, big game wins by MSU have been greatly influenced by DISCIPLINE..Discipline results in a fresh defense..Penalties keep the D out on the field too long and the ball out of the O's hands..

Even though forecasts show a heavy MSU fan presence, I like Stanford to take advantage of the suspension in a game where all other margins look to be a toss-up..

I'm gonna hedge my cover with a large M/L bet on Stanford for today because it also looks like Stanford has a more savvy QB who knows how to use his O line..

Good Luck everyone and enjoy..
