The books aren't giving lines yet on this game. The SMU quarterback Gilbert hasn't played for two weeks and the SMU air raid has been grounded. Without Gilbert Central Florida can name the score.

SMU coach June Jones said he will know later this week the status of starting QB Garrett Gilbert for Saturday’s game against UCF.

Gilbert was injured during a win over USF two weeks ago, and he was unable to play last week against Houston. The Cougars took advantage, blowing SMU out, 34-0.

Redshirt freshman Neal Burcham struggled in his first start, completing 27-of-42 passes for 212 yards with three interceptions. Burcham was sacked five times in the loss.

“I don’t want to put Garrett out there if he can’t run,” Jones said during the American Athletic Conference coaches’ call on Monday morning. “His ability to move around and protect himself is vital. We’ll see how he is. He’s a lot better today. Got his movement back and we’ll see how he is Wednesday and Thursday.”

UCF -10 is the line now.

Now, we need info regarding if Gilbert will play on Saturday.  If he doesn't play, I'll need to put about $3 to $4k on the Under 60 pts for the game....either way, UCF and the under b/c Burcham will have a repeat performance like last week.

Can somebody in the SMU area do some research and post the info on this site?

@tigga76

From my POV, everything i've read points to Gilbert at least giving it a go. It's his last home game so he's going to try. I personally think he won't be 100% as he didn't practice as recently as Wednesday.

I think the weather here favors a decent UCF defense as opposed to a Spread offense. Its cold (30s) and will probably be wet Saturday morning. BOL!

Thanks for the solid information. UCF is clearly the superior team and the 10.5 line should be covered. But UCF is a team that in some games against inferior opponents plays down to their level. I assume Gilbert will play but with a bad knee he is not going to be very mobile. The UCF pass rush will get to him, and I very much doubt that he will have a good game. UCF -10.5. I can see UCF sitting their first string the second half but the SMU defense is so bad I don't think it will make any difference. I still see some books like pinnacle (a very sharp book) not taking bets on this game. What I read into this is they have an injury report on Gilbert and they fear that sharps will get it to. Huge disparity in talent here, these are the kind of games I like to bet on. UCF went toe to toe with SEC elite team South Carolina while SMU gave up 35 points game on average and most of the teams in their conference stink. My only worry is UCF doesn't bring their A game.

If Gilbert plays & gets one solid hit on that knee we'll be having a long delay as they cart his butt on the field

it is suppose to be 22 F at kickoff...I like the under here, especially if Gilbert can't go...all UCF has to do is win and it goes to the BCS, even by one point.   I don't see a need for style points.   Had Cinci beat Lou, and a BCS ranking would determine who would go between UCF and Cinci, then of course, UCF would put up style points.   Its going to be very very cold in Dallas, there will hardly be anyone in the stands for this 11am kickoff.      like lord said, if UCF gets a solid lead, and especially if gilbert does not play, or gets injured fast, or even if he plays and does not get injured, you have to question his effectiveness.   in addition to Gilbert, SMU's top 2 rb's are questionable for the game.    Its hard to predict if UCF will cover 11.5,but I think the under 58 is the way to go...

you are clueless, UCF already got a BCS bowl game with the Louisville win, and there will be people in the stands, this is not uncommon weather, this time of year.at SMU. not hard to predict at all SMU and the points

Bleacher report.

It's 19 degrees as I get moving here in Dallas. Should "warm up" to 23 by kickoff.

Weather, Gilbert, yada yada yada………. none of this BS will matter as UCF will cover regardless of any of the scenario, they are the superior team. SMU will lose interest quickly and go through the motions. UCF  42-7……… THE  MYTH

Just heard on ESPN Gilbert is out and Smu is offering free admission to anyone who shows up for this one. UCF does have everything pretty much wrapped up and the weather in Dallas will not be to the liking of the boys from Florida. With the starting QB out, the UCF defense and the weather conditions don't see SMU scoring too much. UCF in this situation may not be that motivated and the effort may not be there for a two touchdown victory today. I believe this one should go under the number. Under 57.5.GLTA!

PHOTO: SMU has some snow to clear before UCF visit

By Jerry Hinnen | College Football Writer

Hey, you know how central Texas is super-hot all the time? And how SMU is, yes, still located just outside of Dallas? Where they'll host a wide handful of bowl games in a few weeks because, you know, warm-weather city and all?

Via @PonyUpTV, someone forgot to tell the weather about all that. Have a look at Gerald J. Ford Stadium:

hosts UCF Saturday, and though the field should be clear by the game's noon kickoff, conditions may not be a lot better. Unfortunately for the Mustangs, it's same to assume the newly-crowned outright AAC champion Knights will be plenty used to frigid, snowy conditions after traveling from ... um, Orlando.

I have a feeling UCF is not acclimated to play in cold conditions.
