Hilltoppers just a little better on both sides of the ball and they are 3-0 ATS at home. Hate going against ULL being from Louisiana .......

A SU upset win tonight

LA Lafayette - 32                                 Western Kentucky - 30

Ragin Cajuns +4.5                                 under 62.5

Hudspeth does a good job coaching up his Cajuns. He should have them in this game right to the final gun.

LAFAYETTE - UNDER

First Tuesday night game of the season Gents. Since it's the only football game in town I think Vegas is pulling a little trickery on the "not so informed" better. The spread (currently at -4.5 and in some places -5) would lead you to believe that Western Kentucky is the better team. When in fact, statistically these two teams are a pretty close match. Here's what I found:
  • There's only about 14.5 yards difference in total offense between the two teams. Defensively there's a 35.4 yard difference.
  • In one less game (5 games) ULL has two more total touchdowns than WKY who has played 6 games.
  • ULL has the advantage at QB, Broadway has 10 TD's to 4 picks while Doughty has 7 TD's to 10 picks. That to me is a significant difference.
  • WKY looks to ground and pound with Andrews rushing 7.11 yards per clip. Where as ULL appears to run a read option (Broadway is second on the team in rushing attempts 52, averaging 3.02 yards per carry).
  • The one glaring disadvantage to ULL is on Special Teams. The Cajuns have given up 629 yards and 3 touchdowns on Kick-offs in 5 games. Thankfully, Special Teams doesn't appear to be the strength of WKY.
  • ULL's two losses came on the road to much bigger and stronger teams in Arkansas and Kansas State both with double digit spreads in which ULL didn't cover.
  • ULL is 0-3 ATS this season on the road.
  • In last year's game at ULL the spread was ULL -4.5 and the Cajuns failed to cover but won the game 31-27.
The numbers tell me to take the underdog in this match up and I will.

ULL plays WKU tough in the first half but the better offense and better defense prevail at the end.  WKU take down ULL 41-27

Bobby Petrino runs this score up! He's trying to make a name for himself and get a higher profile job ever since he fell off his motorcycle with that young co-ed

WKY QB, Doughty has 10 pix on the season, but 5 came against Tenn.

I'm iffy myself on this one Tz. Betting Sun Belt Conference games can be hazardous to your bankroll. Unfortunately there's not a whole lot to wager on tonight.
