Texas is garbage no matter who there QB is. Defense can't stop the run even if it was possible to stack 11 in the box!!!!

Oklahoma -14 plus the spanking!!!

Oklahoma - Boomer Sooner!   Texas will play tough for a series or two, then OU will break a long run and the flood gates will open.    Texas should have lost at Iowa St as a 8 pt favorite...OU's offense is not exactly stellar, but I think they have enough to handily beat my Longhorns...

The Red River Rivalry, what more can I say. Throw out the records. So what if Mack Brown is on the Red Hot Seat. So what if the horses are out of the barn and a fox got in the hen house. Screw everything, even signing up for Obamacare. You can do that after the game. Sooners survived their scare last week, they should have this one well in hand by the end of the third quarter.

HORRIBLE matchups all over the field for Texas.  Been waiting for this oneone.  Anything under 17 was my trigger to load up.  Thank you, Vegas.  Besides OU having superior coaching and intensity from Stoops on down to the waterboy, the player matchups here and unit styles are a nightmare for Texas.

Ash gave Texas a puncher's chance to trade scores.  Case's weak arm and inaccuracy beyond 15 yards will seal Texas' fate by halftime.  This one will get downright ugly.  I'm thinking something around 51-20.

Is it me or is the fog starting to clear on these lines for both College and NFL. Texas is weak and Oklahoma despises them. Gotta go Sooners big!!!! Last year the line was like -3 and Oklahoma won by like 40. GL guys- see a blow out brewing.

OVER 56, obviously this one always means a lot, both teams are rather inconsistant, texas on both sides of the ball and oklahoma on offence, having said that I still like the OVER 56 in a 9 unit play,

THIS IS A BIG RIVARY GAME REGARDLESS OF HOW EACH TEAM IS DOING ON BOTH SIDE OF THE BALL. HOWEVER I NEED TO LOOK AT THE POSSIBILITIES AND MAKE A PLAY. I WANT TO TAKE THE SOONERS BUT SOMETHING ASK ME  WILL THEY DO GOOD AWAY FROM HOME. SOONER SCARE ME CAUSE AT TIMES THEY LAY BACK AND LET TEAMS CATCH UP AND THEY JUST GO FOR THE WIN AND THAT MEANS NOT COVERING, UNLESS THEY ARE REALLY FAR FAR AWAY. I NEED TO GO WITH THE BETTER TEAM.                                                                                                      A SMALL PLAY ON SOONER -14

Myhoney has a good analysis of the sooners. This team is usually a no play in road games because they flat underperform. But this is Texas, they HATE Texas like the person hate Hitler. They will beat this team to a bloody pulp if they can. Some books have this game at 13.5. If yours does, hit it. This is why sharp bettors open multiple accounts,

I now have mixed feelings on this game...I came out backing the sooners earlier in this thread...here are a couple of things to consider if you are a Sooner Backer...

this will definitely be Mack's last OU game...Texas has the talent on that D, if the Texas D plays a near perfect game, it could slow OU down.  the O was not impressive against WVU and TCU, two 2nd or 3rd tier Big XII teams...they beat WVU at home by 10 and TCU at home by 3...what does that tell you...yes, OU, slaughtered Texas the last two seasons.  I was at the 2011 game...our team gave up in both games...

I now advocate that won't be the case this year...sure, OU is the better team, incrementally better, better coached and motivated with comparable talent as texas...is OU elite, I don't think so...I think Oregon, or A&M or Clemson, or Baylor, or Bama could beat them by 2 or 3 TD's...

Thus, this will be a no play for me...for the following reasons...

1) I am a UT homer

2) I acknowledge that Texas has looked bad, but if they decide to play, and I mean really play anywhere close to their potential (they have not all season), this could be a very close game, at least closer than the spread.

3) it is a classic rivalry game, one of the best in college football, and anything can happen

4) on pure talent, and I mean high school evaluations, OU has nothing on Texas.  Texas has just underperformed due to Mack's soft family focused culture.  Big Game Bob  and his brother are sons of b^tches and his players, especially in games like Texas, play at the highest level.

Overall, this good be a solid OU victory, at least on paper...but, anyone who things this is a slam dunk for OU based on the last two years, maybe be mistaken...This is Mack Brown's last game against OU as the Head Coach of the University of Texas...remember that if you count your OU minus the points as a guaranteed win prior to kickoff...

this is the same thing i'm banking on to at least give my horns a chance. hope they actually come out to play. the defense is as soft as it gets, so it's hard to imagine them getting tough now, but if there were ever a game for them to do it, this would be the one. based on coaching alone, this should be a route for OU, but maybe some of the players for UT who should be more talented than those at OU will finally step up and take matters into their own hands and lead the team. in all likelihood i will be plastered by noon drowning my sorrows, but at least it should mean good coaching is on the way.

This might be a game where Texas fights hard... Even though oklahoma has been playing really well, expect texas to get some flukey calls like there last game. Oklahoma gets this but texas covers.....

Pretty much my thoughts other than final score. I'm thinking Texas loses 41-17.

I'm a huge Texas fan. Believe me--this team is ready to lay down. Mack is scared shitless of OU and Stoops. Any confidence or sense of revenge the players may have had has been replaced with actual pussies as a result Mack's coddling and insecurity. Mack's mailed it in for the season; rarely spends time with the team; has been in the media trying to save his job rather than coach (not that he's ever been much of an X's and O's guy; he's a pseudo-CEO more than anything); and has run a program absent accountability.

Our team rarely shows up ready for a fight in the Cotton Bowl. This particular team lacks the balls and gumption to fight back. We may look decent on the first drive or few minutes of the first quarter but, trust me, this team will collapse at the first opportunity. They're entitled, soft, prima donnas that console each other for poor angles and bad tackling. We lack leaders. We lack mean spirit. We lack the hate the every Longhorn should have for those mouth-breathing, land-thieving, meth smoking, trailerpark dwelling neighbors to the north.

Vegas has given you a gift. Don't over think this. Lay the points, enjoy your morning (if you're not a Longhorn), and cash your ticket in the early afternoon.

It's 2:05 p.m. on Thursday and OU still sucks.

Any non Texas/Oklahoma fans have a real take on this game?  Everyone here is betting with their heart and even saw a comment that Texas has talent in their Defense.  What an absolute joke of a statement! 550 yards rushing to a mediocre BYU team, 463 total yards to ISU, and almost 30 ppg given up: please tell me where the good part of the defense is playing.  Maybe they are playing intramural football for some frat!

For you Sooner fans: you have one quality win at ND and escaped a close one at home against TCU last weekend while looking forward to this game.  Show me something more to make me give up three scores on the road in a rivalry game.

stevopa

hey degenerate a$$hole...that was probably me...you have athletic ability and underperform.  texas has bad scheme, a soft culture, and poor technique on D...that does not mean that individually they are not athletic or talented.    if you say they don't give a damn, then that may be a true statement, but in a rivalry game, at least until and if OU gets up by 3+ TDs, if they keep playing hard, they may be able to stick...

Stevopa--OU laying the points is the play. I hate OU with a passion and it pisses me off to admit they will win handily in this game. This is a rivalry game, TRADITIONALLY. Not lately. OU has owned Texas the last 3 years. This year will be no different. Mack has fostered a soft culture and I can almost guarantee the players do not believe they can win this game. I've watched every Texas game this season multiple times. We suck.

Our LBs don't have a clue how to play within the scheme and consistently over pursue or shoot the same gap as a DL. Our DEs can get push but often shoot too far upfield. Our DTs will stunt, LBs will overload a side and vacate a hole in the middle of the field. Our LBs and DBs have horrible eye control and don't trust each other. As a result, they don't play assignment football and we get gashed by read-options. Our DBs will take angles that minimize the need to tackle accurately; they shy from contact and dive at feet instead.

Offensively, our QB has a noodle arm and can't throw for garbage. Our OL doesn't get much push. We play veteran OLs with bad feet in space yet try to throw screens; lo and behold, the guard is ten yards downfield face down. Mack refuses to run the ball even though we have a stable of backs that would make any program in the nation envious. Don't think Mack will start running the ball with any consistency or giving these guys the opportunity to help win the game. Mack will stick with Case until he repeatedly sacks himself or throws multiple interceptions. Then we'll bring in Jalen Overstreet (who was moved from QB to RB but hasn't gotten playing time since NMSU), and he will run the read-option until OU catches on. Expect lots of 3-and-outs. The team should start to meltdown mentally around the middle of the third quarter.

OU still sucks.

Out DBs will take angles to avoid form tackling. They're pussies.

Hate to lay this many in a rivalry game but I can find no research to make me believe Texas can put up enough resistance to the Sooner attack, or mount much of an offense themselves.  Big Game Bob might blow this one but too many reasons to go with OU to put their boot on Mack's throat.

To the guy that said, "throw the records out" you need to see how much fight the Horns had against Ole Miss at home, after the embarrassment in Utah.  If they had it in them, that would have shown through.

To the Horn fan who talks about their talent, really?  If talent is misevaluated coming out of HS, it doesn't matter how many stars you have from recruiting services.  Frankly, take one player, Vince Young, and Mack Brown has done nothing except make deposits with the Texas booster's money.  Nice guy, lousy coach.  Horns will lose 3-4 more before this nightmare ends.

I am no Sooner fan, wish they could both lose, but I am making a medium play on them putting another nail in the Texas coffin.  Medium because 2 TDs should get covered but sometimes doesn't because players let up and allow a back door cover.    OU   34-13

Mac Brown was interviewed by Jim Rome on Friday October 11, 2013! He said all the right things on the radio about his team needing to improve...but I wasn't not sold on his sales pitch!

With that said Oklahoma probably wins the game but the cover in my mind is a big question mark!
