Only problem I have with Louisville, who have they played - Temple, Kentucky, Ohio. Now they get a Rutgers team that has just about as porous a pass defense as you can imagine, ranked 119, allowing 306 yards per game.  However the Scarlet Knights did beat a very average Arkansas team in Fayetteville.

Early lean - Rutgers +17

I'll watch which way the line moves on this one.

Interesting first "test" for Louisville even though Rutgers has a weak pass defense.  I do expect Rutgers to come in charged up ready to play and get a ranked team's scalp.  Louisville might be decent but who would ever know?  I think the Cardinals cover at home as they have to pile it on everyone they play just to have credibility.  Bridgewater is an unquestionable talent,, but who can be certain what the team strength is?  Maybe a small play for me on Louisville -17.

i think smart way to play this game is throw rutgers into a teaser at +27 and let the points pile up ... both teams will score as neither defense is really that great so lean over as well

if you crunch the numbers than rutgers is the play,  but the number 1 thing to remember is that rutgers pass defence is their weakness and it is louisvilles strength, this game reminds me so much of rutgers vs cincinatti a few years ago, when the same situation came up and what happend their was a cincinnati blow out, this may be the case here as well, in terms of sides I will NOT BET on this game, I strongly feel that louisville will be able to score is the high 40's or low 50's in this one, can rutgers keep up? a no play for me

Louisville couldn't cover against a lowly Temple squad....
The Ville killed alot of parlay cards last week

I think we can agree Rutgers has a tough time on defense, but the jury is still out on the UL defense.  UL has good numbers defensively, but they've not played against an offensively capable team.

If you look at Kentucky's ability to run against UL it has to make you wonder (or even think its likely) Rutgers will be able to move the ball on the ground as well.  If not, then it's UL ats all day.

I think Im probably going with Rutgers +17 but I am still undecided.

OK Im not, Rutgers +17

This is UL's first chance to play in primetime this year.  They rested all their starters halfway into the second quarter last week.  Strong will have them ready to play and ANYONE can score on Rutgers.  The main play is the over if it is at 55, then maybe a small play increasing juice and taking UL -16 1/2.

UL 52/Rutgers 24

Good luck to all.

Rutgers has a great chance of winning this one outright much less staying with in 18pts. Rutgers and if the total is between 49 - 54.5 ill take the over too.

LMAO  The sisters of the poor would have the number 3 D playing the offensive powerhouse's the Ville has played.

Seriously havent seen the Cards play in awhile (imagine that) but they do have some players that get after the ball in this era.

Like the over here possibly a teaser Scarlet Knights to the over on a thursday night!

Rutgers looked horrible facing SMU, looked like triple overtime i think......
Now they play Loui and were never 18 point dogs.
Loui stuck it to us bigtime last week, stiffing the players 2nd half and full game and actually dont deserve the cover or win this week. If Rutgers had the legs on a short week after a triple OT id be all in against them S C U M B A G cardinals.
Tough one, thursday night road team is almost a fixture for wins.

Taking the 18 here, louisville may tell us F U again.

Rutgers took their foot off the gas and setup their defense poorly as a result. There is no way that game should have turned out that way. The first 40 minutes of that game where Rutgers played showed me they are the play.

LOU hasn't played anyone yet and will have to adjust to the speed of a real team. Lou likely wins by 1 score.

This is the only college football game I would consider playing on Thursday night…  Rutgers injury report looks like a MASH unit…  On the flip side Teddy B’s favorite target Devante Parker is listed as questionable...  Rutgers having to travel back to New Jersey from Texas and then having to turn around and travel back to Louisville (this needs to be verified because they could have came straight into Louisville on Sunday and camped out)…  Although I’ve never been a fan of laying two touchdowns (let alone 19) with Charlie Strong, but this very generous line is screaming to take Rutgers, so it’s Louisville or nothing at all Ladies and Gentlemen…

OVER 54, louisville will be very close to this number by themselves, their strength (passing game) is rutgers weakness(pass defence), add to the fact that rutgers will be able to score a little bit as well, OVER  54,  11 unit bet,

Let's talk about Louisville's #3 defensive ranking. Of the 5 opponents Louisville has faced this year the highest ranked offense is Kentucky at #85. Louisville has allowed only two teams to rush for over 100 yards, Kentucky (who could've beaten Louisville with a little more talent and experience) and Eastern Kentucky (who needed 42 rushes at a measly 2.5 yards per clip). Ranked #51 offensively in the country, Rutgers will be the best offensive opponent Teddy Bridgewater & Co. will have faced so far this year.

Louisville is facing arguably their toughest two games of the season back-to-back with Rutgers this week and UCF (with the 33rd ranked offense who should've beaten South Carolina at home last week) next week.

Rutgers is averaging 179.6 rushing yards per game at 4.38 yards per carry. Yes, they clearly have shown that their defense is their weakness with a young defensive secondary. Yet they have also proven that they can put up some points scoring over 50 twice this year and putting up 28 points on the 27th ranked Arkansas defense (who has played Texas A&M and Florida). Rutgers threw for 346 yards against the Razorbacks!

Here are some more points to consider:
  • Teddy Bridgewater has never beaten Rutgers by more than 4 points.
  • Rutgers is on their way to the Big 10 next year and would love to be the team to play spoiler to UL.
  • Rutgers felt like they should've won last years contest at home.
  • UL has not played anyone noteworthy beside a rebuilding Kentucky squad who kept it within two touchdowns.
  • This will be the first prime time stage of the season for Teddy Bridgewater to display his talents and throw his cap in on the Heisman bid.

My pick...Keep running that Louisville spread up its now at -19. I will take Rutgers and the points.
