Going with the Frogs in this one. I have them winning this one comfortably. Red Raiders run into a buzz saw Thursday night.

At least it is a decent Thursday night game this week, last Thursday was beyond boring.  I also am leaning TCU too, Patterson is very stable and always has his teams prepared.  LSU just had too much firepower for them....TT, not so much.

The BUZZ saw the frogs are going to run into is one with a double T on it.  There are few places that when jazzed up as it will be this Thursday, can beat Tech at home.  Yeah they play it on the field, but Saturday in West Texas is something special...ask #1 UT, #1 Oklahoma, #5 West Virginia.   All have fallen at the Jones.  UPSETS live here folks.

Reminds me of 2004, Tech can't win.  No way.  After a 70 point bomb was dropped on the frogs in a 70-35 rout.   Tech will win outright.

I believe you about the atmosphere in the stadium, and Thursday's are a good day for ambushes, but just don't see the offense to blow out a legit team, and TT  never has much defense, even in their good years.  But your warning is something to keep in mind when I think of the size of a Thursday night bet against a home dog.  I just have to discount it for homer enthusiasm..   Good luck to the Red Raiders this year, be good to see them be a factor in Big 12 games again.

The public will push this line so that their will be value in betting on Texas Tech. Not only does the public know TCU ten times as well as Texas Tech but there will be all kinds of squares hitting this game because it is on Thursday night. I'm going to wait till Thursday and see where the line goes, I'm guessing square money will make the Texas Tech money line very tempting. We shall see.

RaiderRed,

This game is at Cowboys Stadium, not Texas Tech.

Over 62.  Both teams have suspect defenses.  Both teams should easily reach low to high 30's.

With TCU QB out I'm thinking Texas Tech and like it even more teased up to +10  with Louisville -7 Saturday

Lot's of interesting takes here......I gotta take the Frogs.....Texas Tech will continue to decline year by year since Leach left......he was one of those odd successful guys.....doesn't make sense.....but its the truth.  I think TTech is going to fade this year hard....keep an eye on it!!!

Frogs romp in a good game until 4th TCU rush defense is something freshman QB will have trouble with as offensive line of Tech is suspect. With this low line odds are Tech would have to win to cover

Kinda on the fence between no play and texas tech. I want that =3.5 number, if i get it I'll take TT. See a lot of cappers buying points to make their win loss record better, but I've been advised the only number worth buying off of is 3. I'll just wait and see.

Without Pachall I think Tech has an EXCELLENT chance of winning this game straight up as that other kid can’t pass the football at all…  With that said…

I really don't like boykin at QB...mediocre with no real talent on a very dry offense...and TCU scored 38 last week against who??  on the other hand, Freshman Mayfield looks like he has a bunch of confidence and is off to a very nice start....I would take a home dog who is firing right now over a team with issues at the most important position, QB.

My bet this week is an open end teaser taking TTech +9 (8.5 really as a push loses)...I am thinking about ending it with Roll tide -1.5.  I dont see A&M stopping a running game anytime soon with Saban an extra week to prepare...

Great discussion here, nothing that anyone points out scares me away from betting the red raiders. One thing that I will point out is that hostorically Ttu defense has had more trouble defending a mobile quarter back. This may not be as much of a problem if Boykin can't beat them throwing the football. Chase Daniels, colt McCoy just a couple that come to mind!

texas tech in a dome. Domes change the whole play of the game. fast gets faster. texas tech has always been a fast team. this is going over and texas tech will squeeze it out in the 4th.

Who has Texas Tech played?? A horrible SMU defense and SFA.. For those who question the quality of competition, TCU should have the edge as they played LSU.. TCU gets Fields back to help with their pass rush.. A pass rush that gave up 4 sacks to SMU's incredible D-Line.. Gotta go with TCU in this one..
