When you first look at this spread you would think UCF is a automatic cover. I have done a little research and found out that UCF usually do not blow out teams out when they are away. Marshall, Tulane, Akron and Rice are four teams in the past 4 years that UCF has beaten by more than 25 points away from home. They have face FIU twice in the past two years and both game were close.

FIU on the other hand play much better when they are home. FIU has not lost a game by more than 25 points within the past 6 years (Yes, hard to believe right lol) at home.

UCF is the better team and my heart tells me to pick UCF, but my mind telling me to pick FIU because the stats/history is there to back it up. Give me FIU to cover the spread (I don't know how, but history tells me that they should find a way cover).

Early lean on FIU.. I do think UCF has the talent to cover, but not sure if they will

Olivpinc, you have me convinced.  I was going all in for CF.  But you make a lot of sense.  No play for me.

I'm so back and forth on this game it not even funny.

When I think about picking UCF, it comes down to they are just the better team plain and simple. I can see a blow out by the halftime.

When it comes to picking FIU, it is all about history and stats and ATS history.

I really want to pick UCF SO BAD, but the history and the ATS is killing me. Central Florida Over is 5-2 ATS in there last 7 games. I would lean on that since im so undecided. I can also see FIU scoring one touchdown MAYBE and UCF scoring 42.

There is no way I can't see UCF scoring at least 42 points in this game. Now the key is how many points can FIU score.

You have great points but new coach Ron Turner kind of nullifies the rationale.

UCF rolled out to a 38-0 lead over Akron before going into cruise control.  FIU allowed an appalling amount of yards to a revamped Maryland team and had only 171 yards gained.  I agree that this is a huge amount cheese to lay on the table given the possibility of a late game score by FIU to cover.  I am interested to see the 1st half line.  It could be under 2 touchdowns and a good play.

I'd take the 1st half up to 17.. Which is right around where it should be if the line is 24ish.. That's the best play in my opinion.. If I do play the game it will be for less then the half..

Good luck guys

Stats & history are meaningless in this game, and that's not something I usually say. UCF is a much better squad with a stingy defense against a weak offense that can't get a meaningful drive if their life depended on it. UCF 48 FIU 9....

Some people say that Central Florida have a better team this year than last year team and some people say it is the other way around. If this UCF is close to the same team as last year, they only won by 13 points and there were home. This year they are away and if they are not a better team than it would be hard not to take FIU.

Many people got burn last night because of the late score from FAU Vs East Carolina (Matter which spread you had). Anything is possible and we all know that, but sometimes a real bad team just finds away.

I think that FIU will find a way to Cover the spread I would not be shock if UCF blows them out of the stadium.

I gave in and took UCF for the game. I swear if UCF doesn't cover I probably wont pick them all season. Specially since all the research I have done history/stats points to FIU covering this game some how and some way.

At the end of the day UCF has a better team. I usually don't second guess my self I have done this is a while, but today I will second guess myself and pick UCF. Don't let me down UCF !!!

I'm looking at this game just like East Carolina game last night. If UCF is not up by more than 2 touchdowns (including the spread) in the 4 Quarter I'm going to just assume that FIU will find a way to cover.

Here's a quote from FIU's Head Coach in an article in yesterday's Miami Herald...

Thirteen players made their first career start, and new coach Ron Turner sensed trouble from the outset.

"There was a lot of deer in the headlights," he said. "They knew what the first play of the game was for three days. It was a play we put in on day one of training camp. And we still had three busts on it. They were a little anxious."

Here's my take, if you knew the first play of the game for an entire training camp and couldn't execute it how can I expect you to improve with less than a full week of practice?!?!

Give me George O'leary and the Golden Knights -24 tonight.

FIU new coach Ron Turner is running a Pro Style offense. Only problem is he has no experience on the team. They graduated all 5 offensive lineman from last year. The Defense returns 4 starters. This FIU team is going to be a bad team.

UCF offensive is explosive this year. The defense is not as good as last year. BUT I will take UCF defense VS a pro style no gimmick offense all day every day. UCF should shut them down.

Final UCF 44 FIU 13
