Opened at Cahhks -11.5. Up to -12. Hmm... Tar hizzles will do well in ACC. They have a lot of talent returning on all sides of the ball. Granted South Carolina got some serious players too but I think the lines too high. Plus they have Georgia the next week.

I watched the line on betonline.ag it started at USC -10 it's gone up to 12. May be up to -14 by gametime. If so I would let the line go up to -14 then play UNC +14. I would probably get them at +13. What I have noticed over the years is that in the begining of the season in both football and basketball college and pro that they books set those spreads way too high in the begining of the season so there is value in some underdog plays. Has anyone else noticed this or is it just me?

I think this line continues to go up above the 10 1/2 I saw today. SC wins this game but at double digits in an opener I plan on taking UNC if I can get it closer to 2 TDs. If not, I will probably tease SC close to even at home. Welcome back to all the CFB lovers, GL to all.

I have to go with the points here. Cocks D is going to be one of the top 15 in the country possibly.....But, boundary states and double digits for the dog, who has proved to be a solid team in recent years......and it's the first game of the year. I gotta take the dog here ya'll. GL to everyone this year!!! Can't wait to rap with some of the other ol skool boys n girls!!!! What a great time of year!!! WWWEEEEE!!!!!!!

we are getting so much hype this year, but our running game (isnt unproven) but needs to demonstrate that they can consistently pound the rock... that and our LB corp will be very young and get tested every game. so what will happen...we will see. USC for the win, not sure on the points yet.

i could see UNC coming out to play this game like it was the game of the year. Last year, Vandy did the same, they made their opening game with USC their game of the yr & considering they had a entire off season to plan, they planned they hearts out & lost by only by 4 (17-13)... Vandy played like it was their only game of their season. so, that being said, davis shouls have his boys ready to roll week 1 vs the cocks...i dont know about the spread yet.(USC -11) but def USC for the win, will come back.

Davis? Are you referring to fired coach of two years butch davis? Lol...vandy was at home ly too so that point if your argument is flawed as well
Yeah, i was a little toasty. I know Butch moved on. i guess i forgot then. I guess your right my argument is flawed, so lay the house on USC....
USC has homefield advantage, unlike last yr, so yes you are correct it will be a big difference. but we have to iron some kinks out with line backers, & i still want to see our RB's pound the rock, like all the preseason hype tells me they will. more i start to think about this. WHen conner shaw is in control, he is a total time possesion QB. this could be the edge. they should cover but Thurs night games can be tricky. i havent looked up either teams record for thurs night games...anybody got this?

Assume you meant "bet the house on SC" kiddingly, or meant bet heavy on them straight up to win. That would be almost a lock, but giving double digits in an opener to a decent team is far from a strong bet, to me. This might be spurrier's best over all team yet at SC but not sure where the playmakers on offense are yet. Definitely solid on D which will keep them in every game until late.
The question for me is how spurrier plays it, he has the biggest game of the season coming up the next week, a game that if they lose will probably take them out of getting to Atlanta for the SECCG. He may play it vanilla on the offensive side if he has any wrinkles he doesn't want to show. And there is no way some of the players aren't looking ahead even though they have already heard the "one at a time" speech since Pop Warner football. I don't think this will happen enough to cause them to lose but UNC needs a big win badly and they don't get a shot at a Top 10 team very often. I think this contest stays interesting until the 4th Qtr then SC wears the Heels down.

i was joking when i said lay the house on USC, but the more i really thingk about this. if we can avoid bad field position turnovers, i reall think we can cover and our D will just wear down the heels. i go back on what i said earlier, conner shaw at QB can really run the clock down.
HOWEVER Macallanlover, you raise a very interesting point. the potential game of the year for both UGA & USC is next week, so what will happen in the 3rd & 4th quarter with some starters. probably will hit the bench. we may actually see a lot of play from our new recruits at QB, RB, WR, etc. technically who ever wins between UGA & USC should take the east & then the SEC Championship, BUT< BUT< BUT< BUT we have beaten UGA 3 yrs in a row and because they a happen to have a very favorable schedule, they ended up in Atlanta, not USC.
Mark my words, if the cocks lose this game this year to UGA, we finally get a break in our schedule where uGA has a tough strech. USC easily could lose an end up in ATL vs SEc West.

I think spurrier would be a fool to leave starters in IF he has a big led. All he needs is a W in the UNC game, not a blowout. He does need the win against UGA because a loss would essentially give UGA a 2 game lead in the East with the tie-breaker edge. After SC, UGA' toughest game will be against LSU and that is at home. I don't think SC can spot this Georgia team the loss so I would call it an elimination game for the loser.
BTW, SC didn't lose the East because of Georgia's schedule, they lost because UGA beat the two teams SC lost to, including a choke to a horrible Auburn team. It was SC's losing that cost them the East title. As I recall, the last time in Athens the cocks were handed 21+ points on TOs and ST plays and spurrier said after the game they got away with one as they got whipped on the field. I don't know about this year until I see both teams play the opener. Looks like a damned good matchup right now. Home field and extra motivation will favor the Dawgs but we will learn a lot about their D next weekend. UNC isn't a team I would prefer to take with 11 points, so this looks like a part of a 3-game tease for me moving the line 10 points sc's way. No way I see this being a nail biter for you.

yeah, that Auburn loss was really hard to swallow. last 3 yrs vs UGA Lattimore & our RB's had a field day. their D hasnt really improved. gonna be a really good game.
i hope they dont get caught looking ahead to next week vs UGA. that could ruin the spread. Everybody in the SEC east (& west) has been talking about next week's match up in Athens.
