#27 Posted: 12/31/2012 1:33:46 PM I think the public is over looking the fact that the Clemson is the one team that can beat an SEC power (LSU, Ga, AL, SC, etc), but that was before the season. The experts aka VEGAS are giving LSU a lot of respect with this line. Clemson is getting a lot of support in ticket counts, but the reason why Clemson is a 5 point dog and have been going OVER all season is because their secondary is all hurt:
CB Bashaud Breeland So.- OUT-4.4 spped hands like a WR PS#59 CB Darius Robinson Jr. OUT-PS#56 SS J Williams Jr OUT PS#71
Some highly tout (rankings from my Phil Steele mag) players out of Clemson secondary...just suggesting why the line has so much respect for LSU |

#28 Posted: 12/31/2012 2:01:27 PM QUOTEGL to you as well my friend. There is no black and white, only shades of gray. If it was obvious, and predictable, we would both own those palaces in Vegas. I always respect opposing opinions, and learn from them. Once any of us feel we are infallible, we become total fools. 55%+ is indeed the goal. Happy New Year to all.

I think you make good points and this an alternate school of handicapping that is legitimate as well. The only real test is the long run, not any one game, so any discussion about any one game has merit on both sides. If they play this game 50,000 times, that would be the real test ( obviously impossible ) so we are left with our own bias and pre-conceived opinions ( both of us ) I like your style and you may very well be right on this game. The goal is to win 55% and higher than that would be wildly sucessful in the long run. BOL to you. |

#29 Posted: 12/31/2012 2:30:15 PM I think both teams are going to be hard to motivate. LSU looked terrible their last two games, and Clemson blew a BCS at large chance with the SC loss. Neither is excited to be here. No real Situational advantages.
Fundamentally, this is a decent (not good) matchup for LSU. LSU can run, and Clemson cannot stop the run. LSU has a top 10 Defense, but may struggle with the Pass attack of Clemson. SEC teams starting throwing on LSU in November with a lot of success. Teams with good Defense and solid ground attack are usually a better play, but I think Clem will be able to keep the score close as long as Boyd doesn't throw a pick six.
Not liking either side that much, but would throw a small flyer on LSU. Given the good matchups to each teams strength, I see a lot of yards gained, and maybe another flyer on the over.
BOL to all and Happy New Year.

After long lay-offs it seems recievers are theo ones who struggle to get there hands on the ball. LSU will be "loose" Clemson has the monkey on there back and there recievers will have to make plays early in the game. |

Say what you want about LSU this year......they still have a D that will cause this sandlot football team at Clemson to garbage the bed!! LSU is one of the best Bowl cover teams of the last last decade!!!!! They covered in two title games.....they covered and blew out the last "resurgent" Irish team......even in their last "down" year they crushed Miami 41-3 back when the Caines could field a team of thugs.......This game is one of the better odds on cover games this bowl season. Pound on LSU .....go with the trends and the far better coach!! oops wrong quote with you Irish! |

Betting with the Public forces you to take the worst of the line because Vegas recognizes that squares will be on LSU for this game so you are getting a bad number from the start. LSU may overcome the bad number but I see no reason to start off the game taking the worst of it.

#35 Posted: 12/31/2012 4:16:56 PM 100% gurantee the Tigers will win this matchup.
Both teams matchup pretty well IMO. A struggling LSU offense going against a struggling Clemson defense. A tough LSU Defense up against a high powered Clemson offense.
LSU 9-1 in the Georgia Dome and 5-0 in the Chick-Fil-a bowl.
Clemson is 5-0 ats in games away from home.
Which Tiger has the bigger bite today....This may come down to a winning field goal..
Clemson Final +6.5
Aloha and good luck to all
From my family to yours Happy New Year to all of you and your families. May the New Year bring great Health and great wealth to all of you.

#37 Posted: 12/31/2012 4:34:05 PM Hey Macallanlover, you speak about LSU's power running game?
Are you kidding me?
They didn't have a running back with more than 631 yards running for
the season.I wouldn't exactly say that is a power running game.
This game is going to come to who scores the most points, and i don't see LSU keeping up with the Clemson offense.
I am taking the 4 1/2 pts,and hammering Clemson,who i believe
will win this game out right.
Good luck to all Clemson bettors |

That would be because they have stable of running backs who are all capable of carving up a Clemson defense. They used 4 different running backs quite regularly and they were all fresh throughout the season because of that. LSU had 2 weeks to prepare for Bama and Mettenberger played great. Had it not been for a rough last defensive series where they went into a prevent they would have won that game against the future national runner ups.
LSU and Under

#40 Posted: 12/31/2012 5:55:12 PM sammy watkins and thompson are too lethal for the lsu corners. lsu defence against the pass horrible this year compared to when they hadd ther honey badger. but lsu will control the ball with the run game i see it being 31 28 either way so go with clemson to cover the spread |

#47 Posted: 12/31/2012 7:31:40 PM Only other SEC game Clemson played this year, they lost at home to South Carolina 27-17. LSU defense held Alabama, Florida, Texas A&M and South Carolina to a combined 75 points, 18.75/game. Buy LSU down to 3 and take the Under. Geaux LSU Tigers |

Dude, the lower echelon of the SEC would be the upper echelon in the ACC. ACC and Big East should go form their own league of mediocrity, maybe invite the armed forces teams. LOL |
