Using the averages for both teams, you'll get:
BYU 29.2 pts for & 14.7 pts against
SD ST 35.1 pts for & 25.5 pts against
The average total points will be 51.75 points

#34 Posted: 12/20/2012 12:40:36 PM Aztecs ML is a good bet!!! They beat BSU on the blue turf.. That alone is an accomplishment!!! They are very solid in the running and return game!!! I'm liking the Aztecs for the win!!! |

#35 Posted: 12/20/2012 12:52:55 PM Two very good defenses, especially BYU's against the run. With the time off, I think both offenses will struggle for 2-3 quarters. I like the under for a small play, biggest risk is an OT game as these two are pretty closely matched. Should be a fun game to watch, I ordinarily wouldn't bet a game this tight but it makes it more fun. GL to all the bettors tonight.

#38 Posted: 12/20/2012 2:34:24 PM Bronco Mendenhall and Rocky Long have coached both WITH and AGAINST each other for numerous years in the Mountain West, they know what each one likes to do. Mendenhall coached teams have fared much better in bowls than any team Rocky Long has coached. Teams just don't learn to play defense overnight, and SDSU sucks against the pass. Gotta go with the Stormin' Mormons and the under here! Good luck all! |

I think SD and the over is where I'm going to put my bets...

#43 Posted: 12/20/2012 4:32:34 PM Some smart $ was bet early on SDS but since the first few days, the number has fluctuated between 3 and 3.5. Also, it appears that the consensus on this board is BYU 15 vs SDC 8 which would make SDS a strong play. The overalll betting ( real money, not fake money like the Covers contest ) shows SDS with about 55% of the overall bets which indicates a slight smart money edge to SDS. My proprietary indicator of money line action at various sportsbooks also points to a pointspread play on SDS at +3 to +3.5. Bowl record to date is 1-1 ( Nevada W and Toledo L ) Play SDS

Not
interested in the side AT ALL… However, as I’ve been saying all year long,
BYU is a top five (5) defense in the country.
I saw the Aztec defense at Boise State and they looked solid, but
they will look even better tonight against that Cougars signal caller that absolutely
SUCKS (Riley Nelson). With that said, this
game has Under written all over it so……………..
put me down for Under the Total for a shinny new Nickel Alex Trebek
please. Thanks!

BYU has a solid D & unimpressive offense. i'm having a tough time with this game but slightly leaning toward SDST. with regards to strength of schedule for any bowl game?! toss those stats/matchups out the window. even without a major coaching change during the weeks leading up to bowl games teams are very different from the last week of regular season. a good example so far this year was Nevada covering vs AZ. like i said...i'm undecided on this game & will read up & look deeper & look beyond regular season points per game & strength of schedule. "SHARK EPREZA" the under isnt a lock & i dont think anyone who bets the over is a "moron" like u posted. u do know the lines that are posted usually try to get action on both sides...so the over/under number released is targeting action on both sides...meaning they refine the number so people have to decide one way or the other...its not a number where smart people can say "omg its too high" the under is the bet...the numbers are almost always the perfect medium to force us into a decision. certain times/situations the number released is way out of whack because ya have a team like ND that the public will jump on no matter what the line is because they are one of americas sweathearts & knowing that the oddsmakers release a line on ND on monday morning that is waaaay to high. so basically if u didnt take pitt or byu vs ND but instead took ND u are some of the people that the oddsmakers bank on in those situations
All
lines are NOT set to get action on both sides…
