The Ramblin Wreck

Florida State - 31                                   Georgia Tech - 29

Yellow Jackets +14                               over 61

Would love to see an outright win but I think they come up a little short.

Georgia Tech - Over

clearly FSU would kill GTech on paper, yet away from home FSU shits the bed. Does anyone remember the Thursday night game a month ago. 0-5 ATS away. i know this is on a neutral site, but nevertheless. I like tech to cover by a TD.

I'm hoping GT has some gas left in the tank since they decided to go through the motions against Georgia last week.  your right though LH this could turn out to be a blowout if my theory is wrong. GL

you guys are entitled to base your betting opinions on past performance...though that should be considered, i think one must cap the current reality...unless FSU is tecnically incapable of stopping a triple option, I find your logic flawed...everything is on the line for FSU...they will be focusssed, they will be intense, and they will dominate a medicre Ga Tech team on the way to a ACC Championship and a birth in the Orange Bowl...

FSU -14

FSU 45

Ga Tech 17

By your score "prediction", not sure if you should bet the over.

Stoops will coach Florida State in Saturday’s ACC Championship Game against Georgia Tech. It is not clear if he will remain on staff for the Seminoles’ bowl game.

that's bad news for Ga Tech and for you Ga Tech ATS backers, but good luck!

I guess it's possible (FSU rolls), but after last week's beat down they will likely be lethargic (like they were in South Florida or NC State or Virginia Tech)... Trying to figure out why this game would be any different a result?

Not so sure it won't be. If Ga Tech plays like they've played all year - they cover. If FSU plays like they have all year - they DON'T cover.

invegas - they will not be lethargic...this is for the ACC title and a trip to the orange bowl...do you think Jimbo Fisher is going to say, "yea, you took your lumps against your hated in state enemy Florida...you had a pretty good year, now go show up at the ACC Title Game, go through the motions, and lets start preparing for the Orange Bowl...is that what you think?    I just don't think it will be like that... What did FSU do to Wake after losing to NC State...that's right...and that's what you will see on Saturday...but, go ahead and take the Jackets, if you wish...

LH - I see your point. But again, it isn't what Jimbo will say, it's how his club will perform. In all big games away from Doak Campbell stadium they've played fairly poorly, and have NOT covered ANY of them.

Then they just laid an egg in a statement game that they really wanted badly. That rivalry game let them know they are not who they thought they were. And now - since they saw what Georgia just did - they "think" they can go in and dominate Ga Tech...

But when have they EVER dominated Ga Tech? No time with Jimbo Fisher. In fact, Jimbo hasn't dominated ANY TEAM away from DC stadium since he became the coach.

Do they become Bobby Bowden's old explosive (crush anyone anywhere) FL State team on Saturday? Not sure about that.

I think they win, just not sure by how much. I am pretty sure it won't be by 24 points.

Good luck.

FSU's inconsistent offense will finally have success against GT's wimpy D.  The problem is, FSU's normally stout defense has no recent experience with stopping the TO.  Add to that Stoops being distracted with the new job and I think GT will get close to their season average 400 yards offense.I think this is a shootout with GT covering the 3 TD spread.   The lack of time to prepare will make the FSU defense look bad several times on Saturday.  FSU is a little banged up after Florida and may not be very motivated to play an unranked team.  I like FSU to win, but I am taking GT and the 2 TDS.

like i said, you guys that are relying on past performance on your capping may be disapointed...this has blowout written all over it...i saw MTSU destroy this Ga Tech at Atlanta as a 28 point dog...if this were not a ACC C Game, and someone else big was on deck, maybe FSU would be distracted...I think FSU is pissed...and they are going to take it out on Ga Tech and its going to get ugly, fast...

I think the Ramblin' Wreck are getting way too much credit for going 4-2 down the stretch.  The wins were BC, Maryland, NC and Duke.  Not a stellar lineup.  And in their losses (BYU and GA), they got smoked.  Before that, they lost to Clemson by 16 and Middle Tennessee (!) by 21.  Ga Tech is just not that good

some of the Ga Tech backers are banking on FSU being distracted with Mark Stoops pending departure...this is Mark's last game coaching FSU...he helped put FSU back on the map as a D.  Even with FSU's loss of the AA DE Tank, I think FSU will play disciplined and aggressive football,  and have a great showing to honor their soon to be former Defensive Coordinator.  Heck,I think if the win is impressive enough, they may lift up stoops and carry him off the field.    As I have already referenced, I don't this game will be close.   And if it is close, which in my opinion is remote, GT will have a good shot to win, not just cover, because FSU's worst case scenario will play out...

I am sorry, I just don't see it...FSU has a chance to win convincingly win the ACC C-Game by the "back in" much less talented Ga Tech, go to the Orange Bowl, soundly defeat either Rutgers or Louisville, and finish in the Top 10 in the nation.   J Fisher is buildingn FSU back up and I think these last two games will be a stepping stone for how far FSU has come since the departure of BB...and all that will serve as strong motivation to finish the season in a dominating fashion...

I think the best play in this game is the over.  I cant see GT stopping FSU.  I also think FSU will have trouble with GT offense as they are not used to it.  Add it the fact that it is the end of a long season and emotionally draining games againts in state rivalse and I look for lots of points.

so was Georgia use to playing Ga Tech's D?     I think it comes down to talent differential and motivation...Ga Tech knows it is there by default...FSU is the best team in the conference...FSU has played Ga Tech for years...they will drill and drill, and shut Ga Tech down like Miami did...and Ga Tech's D sucks, big time!

Florida's defense was the reason Florida State lost last week because they created turnovers. A team like Florida has proven to be able to do that. Georgia Tech is not Florida, Georgia Tech is a .500 team that is one dimensional. I feel this is a complete mismatch, and Florida State -13.5 is a steal. I know Fla. St. hasn't been great away from home, but I would take -13.5 if they played on the moon. GL everyone!

then go ahead and place a big wager on the jackets, bro...sounds like you believe in them...and EJM just sucks, so the Jackets must be a lock, right???

Well, let's look behind those stats.  UGA pulled their offensive starters in the 3rd quarter and put the lid on the offense, they could have had another 175 pretty easily.  GT was down 42-3 when UGA pulled the defensive starters, and about 100 of those yards for GT were in garbage time and another 80 on their opening drive which ended with a fumble.

The question with GT is never the offense moving the ball on the ground and getting those yards, now winning the time of possession stat, it is the weak defense and the inability to throw the ball, particularly when they are behind.  FSU wins but the first half will be closer than most think as they get confused by the TO.
