Lets see, Vandy comes in and beats you by 4 points, what you think Bama is gonna do to ya?  Vols are next up for Bama, I don't believe they will be looking ahead.

Crimson Tide -21

I agree. Bama has two weeks to prepare for this game.

Lot of points for a home dog to get but Mizzou seems to be getting weaker as they make their way through the conference grind.  Old Man Football indeed, time for another lesson.  They have been inept at passing the ball and their is no way they will run it over Alabama's front 7.  I still have questions about the Tide's offense but I think they will get the ball with short fields and the Tiger defense will just wear down.  Tide will cover.   Bama by 27+

Missou starting QB out so I am not sure they will score.

Franklin is out as QB for Mizzou...

Granted this game is at Mizzzou...Will Saban take his foot off the pedal in this one and allow a back door with the BCS Rankings (1st week) looming on Sunday???

Bama -21

The ONLY reason Saban "MAY NOT" run the score up on Mizzou is the fact he & Pinkel were classmates in college and very good friends to date, thinks alot of Pinkel. Wide Receiver is out for Bama as well, but anyone that thinks Mizzou will win this game straight up has got to be out of their minds, or have taken a serious blow to the head!!!!!   My money's on Bama!!!!

there are always personal relationships that play that should at least be considered.  but, honestly, these coaches are employees of their universities...with the BCS 1st rankings coming out Sunday, I don't think Saban will leave anything to chance....If say Bama is up by 35 late, he may call off the dogs on O, but knowing Saban, he will try to prevent a score...this is a  SEC game, the stakes are high.

my only concern is the weather and the wind...of course that will help both D's, but depending how bad the conditions are during the game, Saban may want to speed it up with a focus on the run..if Mizzou has any kind of D, they will slow down the progrssion of the points...

Alabama 42

Missouri 7

Bama -21

mikem - though i appreciate the comparison to give props to Bama relative to other college teams...in a fictional Jacksonville v. Bama matchup, the Jaquarss would win by 4 TD's...the same was said about the supposed "best college football team, ever" USC Trojans 2005 team.    Even the worst NFL team would destroy this Bama team and it would not be close.     Sure, Bama has probably 15 players on that roster that will eventually play in the NFL...Jacksonville has virtually 22 former college All-American's starting on both sides of the ball.

but, like I said, I agree with you that this is a very good Bama team!
