Oregon State sophomore quarterback Sean Mannion is out indefinitely after suffering a knee injury against Washington State, Beavers coach Mike Riley told reporters Monday.

Junior Cody Vaz will replace Mannion against BYU this weekend.

"Cody is a good quarterback. He has been preparing for this for a long time," Riley said. "He'll be good and we'll be ready to go."

Vaz last saw game action in 2010 when he completed six of 17 passes for 48 yards.

Wait! What? Huh?
QB Taysom Hill for BYU out? Are you sure you're getting your facts correct? Cause I know for a "FACT" QB Riley Nelson is still out with a sore lower back and QB Sean Mannion for Oregon St. is out a indefinitely cause of a bum knee injury.

Provo • BYU football coach Bronco Mendenhall and offensive coordinator Brandon Doman both took responsibility Monday for the needless running play in which freshman quarterback Taysom Hill suffered a season-ending knee and hamstring injury in Friday’s 6-3 win over Utah State.

I stand corrected. Taysom Hill is out! Apparently, at the end of the Utah St. game they tried to run out the clock instead of taking a knee to end the game and that's where he was injured. Good looking out.....
