Jimmy should play. At the end of Saturday's game Weis said he only took him out because it was 33-7 and the game was basically over. Jimmy will play in this game - I think everyone knows it, too

Casinos have cashed in on ND name this year. I think they only covered once maybe twice all year. And as for home games, that is a joke. School made a lot this year. That said, I just think ND covers 31- 10.

Well I'm not a ND fan actually I can't stand them, but they played a home game at a neutral site. I also will tell you a lot of big names teams will play 8 homes now since they went to the 12 game schedule. I have PSU tix and they have 8 home games.

Did some research on this one and came up with some interesting trends.
Notre Dame 2-6 ATS this year
7-13 as a home favorite last 4 years
1-8 home vs opponent with revenge
1-5 home vs > .500 opponent off loss
Navy 13-5 as a road dog last 4 years
9-0 away last 9 in series
55-24 last 79 road games
Road team is 13-1 last 14 in series
All records shown are ATS. There are injury questions on both teams at QB which could have a major impact on the outcome of this game. Notre Dame's rush defense is suspect and Navy should be up for this one. I agree with Booty the Irish may be looking down the road to the Panthers. All in all I see the Irish taking a tough battle over the Midshipmen by 3-7 points with Navy covering the 12.5. GLTA

Just can't believe the Irish would be looking PAST Navy. Navy has been an excellent program in recent seasons, repeat BOWL appearances (ALSO with a solid record this season). They have played the Irish tough in recent years too, with one outright upset. If the Irish don't cover, THAT won't be the reason....ALL of the Irish attention is on stopping that option this weekend.

Inthemoney - how much $$ do you have to lose on Notre Dame to quit betting on them? I've seen people ride a team when their hot. But never ride a team week after week when their losing your $$. You must not be gamblling for the right reasons.

Nobody said that the Irish would not cover solely because they would look past the middies but it could be a factor. They are a solid 12.5 favorite and expected to win. With the Panthers up next week and currently ranked 14 they are by far the 2nd toughest opponenton the Irish schedule (next to USC). Mr Scott is correct about Navy, all the service acadamies are well coached and usually give a good account of themselves, which is probably why Navy's road record is so strong. I don't think any of us know for sure what is in the minds of the players and coaches for either of these teams. I do think Navy will look at this as a big game as probably most of the dogs on Notre Dame's schedule do. I think there are good reasons for most of the trends in my earlier post. Bottom line is if you put money on the Irish and they don't deliver whether it's due to the fact that they overlooked an opponent, or Vegas consistently pads them because they are the Irish,or they're poorly coached, or a combination of all of it who gives a f#$k when your money's gone.
