You know what the key to covering 40 points is?  Score 40 pts!

I'm not convinced OSU is going to hit this number, and if somehow someway NMSU gets to 10, that puts a whole wrench in this thing....and if they cant cover straight up, there's always the backdoor in garbage time!

Small play NMSU----fumbles and pick 6's could be the end of me!

And Seriously, how much time is Tressel putting into this game?  Coming up are Penn St, (undefeated) Iowa, and archrival Michigan!

They win those 3 games and they assure themselves the Rose Bowl, and a probably rematch with USC.

BTW Osu has not scored 40 in a game yet this year.....still NMSU is crap, possibly the one win thats left on Hawaii's schedule.

I've had bad luck betting on Ohio St.  Can't let them give anyone 44. If they don't cover it by the half, they WILL let the back door cover hit you in the end.

I'll lay 44 because they'll win by 49.

Consider this.....Boise St with what we all likely consider is a reasonably potent offense is favored over San Jose St by 35.....While Ohio State with anything but a potent offense is favored by 44 (and climbing) over N Mex St......

44 points is sure a lot of points, BUT.................

In the last 2 games New Mexico St has been outscored 82 -10 ( Fresno State  34-3 & at LA. Tech 45-7). New Mexico St is DEAD LAST in total offense & last but not least, this is a 11am (Ohio time) kickoff time from the Horse Shoe. When has New Mexico State ever played a game that started in the MORNING? They will be sleepwalking until the 2 minute warning of the 4th quarter.

I see it as, last week against a basically hapless Minnesota team, Ohio State struggled for a good while & then all of a sudden EXPLODED  & beat the TOOTHLESS Gophers by 31 points.  Now, IF, Ohio State can beat a Gopher team by 31 points, they can sure beat a VERY VERY BAD NMSU team that absolutely has NO OFFENSE at all by at least 2 more touchdowns.

Final score:  Ohio State 56  New Mexico State 7

from a Columbus guy I can see where vegas is coming from isn putting this line so high. OSU has top 5 talent in the country, I would possibly even go as far as saying OSU has the second most telented team only to USC. With that being said this team showed lst week that in a quarter and a half that they could post 31 points. Lets not kid outselves with the game being close last week. OSU drove the ball at will the entire first half, except stupid penalties, turnovers, and missed chi shot field goals made this score much closer that those that just saw the final score.

my point is that when this team finally brings it, they will bring it to a tune of 60 points. but im not quite sure they are disciplined enough to lay enough points to cover this spread this week, but they are MORE than capable. I dont bet this game too many question marks as well as 3 big games after this one.
