He will know both teams better than Petrino knows his own. People are high on Arkansas but if you look at both teams they are exactly the same offensively but Ole Miss Defense is far superior. Ole Miss won't lose this game because Arkansas has let every team except Missouri State score 20. Remember Georgia put up 52 on them.
Ole Miss won't turn the ball over 5 times against a bad Arkansas Defense. Ole Miss Defense has held every opponet to less than 20 points with the exception of Bama 22 and has only allowed 6 Touchdowns all season.
Good luck if you are on Arkansas side, only way that will happen if its a backdoor cover.
No Play All Over
You're entitled to your opinion and I disagree with everything you've said, but there are too many inaccuracies to address here. One, Arkansas is a young team - many of the starters and/or major contributors including most importantly QB Ryan Mallet never took a snap at Arkansas when HDN was there, including: Joe Adams, Jarius Wright, Elton Ford, Jerico Nelson, Ronnie Wingo, Jerry Franklin, Zach Stadther, John Bequette, Greg Childes, Dennis Green, De'Anthony Curtis, etc. Yes, perhaps he saw them in HS and recruited some of them, but never coached them or saw them in college. More importantly, Arkansas' offense from OL blocking schemes to passing formations are nothing like HDN's teams -- they are totally and completely Petrino's; likewise the defense is completely different from the defensive coordinator and scheme to all new personnel - only four of the starters played at all under HDN. I can only hope he thinks he knows our player personnel on that basis and assumes Arkansas will continue to run the wildcat formation (sans Darren McFaddin) and a Casey Dick 10th grade passing attack.
Also, the point about Arkansas holding only Missouri State to under 20 is inaccurate - the Hogs also held A&M to under 20 as well, 7 of which was in garbage after the Aggies were blown out. More importantly, the defense is playing a lot better now than early in the season. It is plainly evident just looking at the team - far fewer big plays given up - greater pressure up front (UA sacked Tebow 6 times last week - when was the last time that happened?). There was none of that early on against UGA or Alabama. Holding UF and Auburn to 23 the past two weeks is impressive - Ole Miss' offense isn't as good as either and will score no more on Saturday.
On the other side, Arkansas can score points on anybody - its worst outings being 20 points on the road against Florida's defense w/ 11 returning starters from a NC team which is a helluva lot better than Ole Miss, and 7 on the road against Bama, the best D in the country. In all other games the offense has lit up the scoreboard. Arkansas' offense is more diversified and dangerous than any Ole Miss has yet faced - including Alabama; much moreso than South Carolina, and who else have the Rebels played?. Hogs will score 30 on Ole Miss and, if they get on a roll, possibly a lot more. Do the Rebels score more than that? More than Florida did? More than Auburn? I think not.
