I have been 3-1 on Bama plays so far this year ( Only loss was Nort Texas) and I see a let down here with Tennessee on deck... This is a classic let down spot for Bama after a huge game just like after the VT game..I will probably wait until this line goes up, if it does, and jump on it then.....

I cannot figure out this SC team, they somehow keep winning. Bama should win and cover however. I like that Alabama defense to give the Spurrier offense fits. Bama's corners won't let Jeffery do what he did against my wildcats

Two excellent, hard hitting defenses in this game, although Bama is the best in the country so edge to the Tide. Tuscaloosa is also a very tough environment to play in, so another edge to Alabama, but this is too just too many points to give SC. I haven't seen the O/U yet, but an under may be the only way to play this. Slight SC lean in a low scoring game. Looking forward to other thoughts on this match up..

Take the points and hope for the Gamecock defense to keep this one close or within the point spread, especially if the line climbs to 18. kentucky played bama close till the end as well.

My concern is how Alabama's OL looked last week against Ol Miss. Three 1st and goals inside the 5 yard line and three FG's. That isn't going to cut it against the SC defense and needing to cover a 17+ point line. I don't doubt the quality of Bama overall, they look to be the best team in the country from a "complete package" standpoint to me. That is just a lot of points against a quality SEC defense for a team that looked sluggish last week on offense. Still leaning SC, and looking at the under.

Giles is listed as "doubtful" with a suspension which makes no sense since Spurrier controls that. My response to you is that will not change the game either way, but I suspect that listing means he will play. SC isn't going to have much success running the football against Bama even if they bring in Adrian Peterson.
The bet is whether SC's defense can frustrate Alabama's offense enough to cover the spread. I think they will be able to keep it close if they don't give the Tide some cheap scores with turnovers. This is a good line, and should be about right. I am leaning with SC because they are so desperate for a big program win and will lay it all out in this one. It is a game to keep their hopes for winning the East alive. SC has never made it to Atlanta before for the title game. They aren't likely to this year either, but it is a motivational point. For Bama, it is following a big game on the road where they beat an Old Miss team that was supposed to be a threat to them in the West. And it is before they play a big rivalry game against TN next week so SC is catching Bama about right. I think it is too many points to cover, but don't see much chance of SC pulling the upset.

My lean is bama simply because what everyone else said...they're the most complete football team in the country

The only thing confusing me when capping this game is the credit being given to Carolina's defense in this thread after they gave up 175 yards on the ground to SC State and over 200 to Kentucky.
I also think it's hard to use their schedule as any kind of measuring stick thus far. Their record is smoke and mirrors.
And I agree with Mika 23g.
And Bama's defense is like an NFL defense right now. They held my Hogs to 7 points.
I suppose a let down IS possible as suggested, but I just think at the end of the day it's gonna' be a long one for the Ball Coach.
Bama could win the national championship this year.
