For those that care about my unbiased opinion on Georgia handicapping this year, (I am passionate about UGA football, but have no problem betting against the dawgs) I've got a good idea about this game.

Underdogma, You really think that Georgia is going to beat LSU this bad?  I don't know where you come up with these scores, bro?
IF, you think that the game is going to be like you predict, go & pour yourself another drink......might as well make it a few!!!!!!
I really wish people would THINK before they write or post something........That really GRIPES me!!!!

Final Score:  LSU  28  Georgia 24

P.S.- Georgia's defense is NOT like it was in the past. Check out the scores in their games this year, bro!!!! The least that they've allowed was 17 & that was to ASU this past week.
IF, I'm wrong, I will admit it on here NEXT week!!!!

4th ranked team in the nation is an underdog?  Talk about more overrated SEC teams.

The oddsmakers know whats up here.  I'm a die hard GT fan but the Dawgs are gonna win this game and I never bet on the dawgs.

60-57 final in 4 OT's

LR, I hear you loud and clear.  My analysis is based on the book by Malcolm Gladwell, Blink.  This is, as the book suggests, "a gut feeling".  Yes, Georgia's defense has been playing abysmal this season, and, yes, LSU is undefeated and ranked #4 in the country.  These factors alone imply that LSU will, indeed, pose a formidable opponent this Saturday in Athens.  However, there is a little more to my prediction than just a gut feeling...

a.)  I believe that LSU is just as unreliable as Georgia.  They have not played anybody all year, and their fan base does not like their current HC, Les Miles.  Did I mention that LSU went 3-5 in the SEC last year?  Also, they are getting very little pass rush so far, and their offensive line woes are beginning to show, as well.  The dominant LSU teams of the past were coached by Stacy Searles on the O-line.  Where is Stacy now?  He is coaching Georgia's offensive line.  Believe me when I say he knows how to prepare for LSU's defense.

b.)  Vegas is begging you to take LSU at +2.  Go ahead and play LSU as it may be a close game as you suggest.  But I can tell you right now that UGA is sick and tired of playing in close games, and LSU is probably sick of them, too, after barely scraping by in Starkville over a team that will finish the year with a losing record.  It does not bode well for LSU that this is their second road SEC game in a row, and the fact that they have to play Florida next week.  Yikes.

c.)  Finally, I don't like to explain my logic on this board, but when you call my prediction into question, because I do not THINK, it really pisses me off!  I've been watching football since 1976 when Kentucky thumped our butts 33-0 between the hedges, and Prince Charles was recognized at halftime.  What made it quite humorous was the fact that the Georgia faithful greeted him with a huge sign claiming that the "Prince likes it doggy-style".  While the fans that crafted those creative words are no longer able to watch from the railroad tracks, (they were replaced with 25,000 seats in the east endzone after UGA won the national championship in '80) they will be in Athens this Saturday, and they will be loud!  Georgia is going to be fired up come Saturday, and, in my opinion, LSU will get punished.

UGA  41

LSU  16

LRpisano, I look forward to you coming back to this board next week if in fact you are wrong.  That is true character.  When I was a lad, my father and I used to shoot crows with the help of a "Jhonny Walker Crow Caller".  We had a housekeeper who found the taste of crow, a true delicacy, even though she said that the meat was a bit on the dark side.

While she boiled the meat, I think I would prefer my crow fried if I am wrong.  How do you prefer your crow?

Cheers,

An intersesting side note for all of you history majors...

UGA has not beaten a top 5 opponent in Sanford stadium since 1984 vs Clemson, 26-23, on a 60 yard game-winning field goal by Kevin Butler.  Butler's son now plays for the dogs, and is doing quite well punting the football for the squad.

The last three top-5 teams that played, (and beat) UGA in Athens, Tech in 90, Florida in 95, and Tennessee in 98 all went on to win the National Championship.  Yes, Florida played Georgia in Athens in 1995 because they were rebuilding the Gator Bowl.

Last year's game doesn't mean anything.  UGA lost their 2 best players.  However, they will still win this game.

uga 41   lsu 16 ??????  wtf? come on people. i know u r entitled to ur own opinions. but when u posted something like this it just make u look plain stupid. games last year WAS last year. this year u have joe cox as qb...and frankly that speaks for itself.

yes lsu r overated. but they are UNDEFEATED. { even though they played against crappy teams. }  this will be a close game but lsu have a ton of talent.  lsu defense is better. slight edge in receivers. o-line better. running backs about the same.

LSU 27    UGA 24.      i don t care if u watched ur teams before they invented tv and prince of england visited ur stadium, what the hell does that have to do with football?

amen ace,i am a dawg fan myself, but the fact of the matter is that they hardly ever cover. along with joe cox and 1 rb that can't hold on 2 the ball and another that stays hurt all the time [king].throw in a defense that gives up points like grandma giving candy at halloween and u have yourself a a really over rated dawg team.been betting against them since week 1 and i am 3-1. and its only gonna get better. imho

weird line here. lsu is ranked 14 spots ahead of them. plus they got all those killer athletes. the only reason i see not to take lsu is they may be looking ahead to fla next week. lsu and ga are both terrible ats teams though....

Ace,

LSU 27 UGA 24??

Calling someone stupid for posting a prediction, then posting one yourself is defined as insanity.  I doubt you are insane, but c'mon...any moron knows that Charles is the Prince of Wales.

What good are these forums if you post a prediction that is within a touchdown of the spread?  Grow some balls!

UGA 41

LSU 17 (I gave them an extra point to make you feel better)

Why do folks keep thinking that just because UGA has played 3 thrillers in a row, that they will play in another?  This game will be a blow-out, either way, and I'm just saying UGA will come out on the good end of things, because Les Miles is a buffoon.

I agree with those seeing this as a close game.  UGA has to stop the three turnovers each game, or they will lose in the SEC.  If they do, UGA wins.  Both teams are capable of winning by 2 TDs because they both have questions on defense that have not been answered yet.  LSU gave up 450+ at Washington, and UGA had problems defending the pass against both SC and Arky.  I think UGA wins a close game in the 4th quarter but there are better. less risky bets this week.  UGA 28   LSU 24   No bet for me.  GL all.

Very familiar with LSU football, and i will tell you this is my 1st time to post something on this website.I tell you that LSU will never cover this spread for the various reasons listed

1.Les Miles will definitely be outcoached
2.It will be the 1st real road test for lsu qb--Jefferson
3.lsu 's offensive live is the weakest in the conference, with no backups that could make a difference
4.lsu has had the benefit of having the best turnover margin ion the country combined with Ga having one of the worst--this factor will probably balance out with time
5.lsu has had 2interceptions for touchdowns and not covered either game
6.lsu has a bad weakness in comparison to other years at defensive line and linebacker
7,ga has played far superior schedule with only loss being oklahoma st. (who had their most hyped game in school history)
8 les miles 's luck is about to run out

however,i do not look for this game to be high scoring, also, watch the matchup between green and Lsu's corner Peterson. Peterson can really play and look for him to slow green down.

my prediction:GA 28  LSU 10

I've seen every second of every LSU footbal game this year and the 1 thing that stands out is...if Jefferson doesn't have a man wide open underneath, he cannot throw the ball. And he can't read a defense to save his life. Georgia 24 LSU 13

Take it from someone who knows the LSU Tigers, and I bleed purple and gold and I'll tell you they are way overrated. The Dawgs have had their # for a few years now.  My Tigers are terrible on defense and have a 19 yr old QB, they can't rush the ball and have a hard time throwing the ball down field.  I'll take the Dawgs at home - up to -7 points here.

I hate it too !!

Liking the OVER in this one so far, LSU and UGA have struggled on defense
