+10 ALA ...I mean WOW! ...Someone explain why this has been the choosen number.
Sagarin has the Gators as an 11 point favorite, with UF having a SoS of 28, and 'Bama at 73. I've already got a futures bet on them to win it all, so I might just hedge that with a small play on the 'Bama ML, although I'm sure I'll get an itch later this week and play the Gators and the over

For what reasons? Alabama doesn't turn the ball over. They don't get penalties called on them. They run the ball great. They stop the run great. They have the best DT(Terrance Cody) in the SEC, the best linebacker in the SEC, one of the best two safties(Rashaad Johnson) in the SEC, one of the best CB's in the SEC(Kareem Jackson), one of the two best return men in the SEC(Javier Areanas), the best running back in the SEC(Glen Coffee), the best center in the SEC(Antoine Caldwell), the best LT in the country(Andre Smith), best freshman WR in nation(Julio Jones), best coach in the country(Nick Saban). Ya Alabama has no chance.

Alabama has played against SEC teams, who play SEC football....power run, pro-style football. No creativity, what so ever. That right there plays into their strength.
Florida does not played that way. They used a variety of spread formations, and alot of unorthodox plays. This is the key, and why no one has been able to stop them since the fallout against Ole Miss. Their special team is also the best in the nation.
You need the athletes to stop them, but more importantly, smart and discipline players, which Alabama has. But, their whole entire offense, especially at the skill positions, are playing at another level compare to their competition. They can pick up 5yds like nothing, and blowout teams playing in the worst field conditions possible for a game of football, which I am greatful for, cause I was on them also.
I've rooted, cheered, betted, and hyped Florida the entire second half of the year, and will continue to do so when they win the BCS championship

Those speed guys are going to have trouble getting going when those holes they have had all season aren't there Saturday when Terrance Cody, Bobby Greenwood, Josh Chapman, and Brandon Deaderick are filling them up. And if by chance they do find a hole Rolando McClain, Dont'a Hightower, Corey Reamer, and Brandon Fanney will make them wish they weren't there. Those little backs may not make it out alive. Once that running game is shut down good luck passing on KJ3 and Rashaad Johnson. I'm not calling for a shut out or anything like that, but those big plays Florida lives on won't be there this weekend.

jonathan luigs is the best center in the SEC...hands down.
im hoping the line drops enough so i can talk myself into taking FLA ;)

Go back and watch the Alabama-Arkansas game this year. Take a look at what Terrance Cody does to him on the first play of the game, matter of fact what they did to him the whole game. Antoine Caldwell should be first team All-SEC no matter if Luigs won the lineman of the year award last year or not.

I've got to believe this is going to be one hell of a game. Florida looks to have Harvin (WR) out of the game and he was a star player for them, I even heard maybe a few defense players might have gotten hurt last week against FSU. Bama doesn't really have any injuries and should be healthy and ready to play on Saturday. I've got to go with the +10 and have a feeling it is going to come down pretty quick, so jump on it while you can. Bama should run the ball and the clock while the defense will play very very physical. I think Bama can pull the upset and will probably ML them.
I'll be at the game to cheer them on, but I think it is going to be a great game and winner goes to the National Title Game...Roll Tide!

Lugis got all the pub pre-season but go back and watch the game film. He may be the most overrated player in the SEC. Caldwell is clearly better. Its not even close.

Several good points Scott, although Coffee isn't the best RB, Jones is very good, but probably not the best FR receiver, and you don't mention the shortcomings of J Parker Wilson.
But you are correct to point out to those who only listen to SportsCenter for their info that Alabama is better than Forida at several positions making this a much better game than many are expecting. I have watched both of these teams play all year, and while Florida is the most dangerous/explosive of the two, Alabama is the worst draw UF could have drawn. They can shut Florida down better than any other defense I have seen. They also have the best blocking offensive line Florida has faced and will be able to run the ball effectively while keeping the Florida offense off the field. Plus, Harvin is questionable at this point.
I haven't decided definitely yet, but definiely leaning toward taking the points and going under in this one. I am hoping the hysteria will continue to increase the spread before week's end. Mostly I am deciding how much to bet more than which way. No way I would give Saban that many points,

Is this guy serious? Yes, when we beat up on the #1 rated team in the country, we will move ahead of Texas who is on an off week this week.
Its not that simple. Florida is way behind in the computer rankings at #6. Even if they beat Alabama, they won't come close to catching Texas. With Florida only one or two spots ahead of Texas in the human polls, the computer rankings might hold them behind Texas in the BCS avg. The biggest part of this equation is, just how much of a boost will Florida get in the computers if they beat Alabama, who is currently ranked #3 in that poll.

Does this mean the spread at the half will be UF -5??? Again, I will load up on Florida at that crazy number and take the over for the half and the game. Florida has been my one money making bet each week and I am going to ride it through two more games!!
