#3 Posted: 11/3/2008 4:24:39 PM What has LSU done against good teams that would make me think they could keep it within three points against Alabama? Look for LSU's O-line and D-line to get dominated yet again. |

#4 Posted: 11/3/2008 7:40:27 PM This is LSU's championship Game !!! LSU, more than likely will not be going to a BCS game this year ( But you never know the way college football has been this year & last year.......VERY WHACKY!!). LSU & their fans have been waiting for this game since last year when Nick Saban was hired at Alabama. LSU WANTS TO F*CK Alabama up SOOOOOOOO BAD, It's not even funny. This is LSU's season right here. IF they beat Bama, they STILL have a shot at playing in the SEC Championship Game, BUT more things would have to happen. It would most definitely be a positive for LSU & a negative for Bama !! I PREDICT that LSU WILL BEAT BAMA !!! Final Score: LSU 31 Alabama 17

Tigers +3
Host in this series is 1 - 9 - 1 ATS in their last 11.
Yes everything is pointing to Alabama.
I'm taking the Tigers to spoil Saban's New Years celebration plans. |

#6 Posted: 11/3/2008 9:35:46 PM I'd be taking Alabama in this one... but only to get spanked against Florida next week. And I'm going to say that a 1 loss Texas team, TT, or Oklahoma team plays Florida in the BCS Championship game and Penn State doesn't play, because of schedule and no Conference Championship Game. If that happens, just another situation that says PLAYOFFS! Sharp |

#9 Posted: 11/4/2008 2:20:05 AM if Penn St. runs the table, I am sorry but they go. Against whom I don't know, so many candidates like USC, or any of the one loss Big 12 or one loss SEC teams. It will be figured out but Joe Pa must go if they are the lone undefeated team in the nation. That is the criteria why Hawaii went ly and Boise St. the yr b4. and Utah the yr b4 that. |

#10 Posted: 11/4/2008 2:25:24 AM I' m also leaning BAMA here! BAMA is a very physical football team and will control the clock and stop the run and I just don't see Lee being very productive against that stellar BAMA defense. I totally agree with you CollegeSharp I think the SEC champion and Big 12 Champion will play in the National Championship because everyone around the country remembers the routing that The Big 10 champion Ohio State took from the SEC champion in two consecutive years and I don't think the media or all of the college football world wants to see this happen again for the third time straight. IMO, I see Penn St playing USC in the Rose Bowl and I think BAMA will play the winner of Ok State/Tex Tech in the National Championship because I think Okie St will beat Oklahoma and if they beat Tex Tech then I believe they will win the Big 12, just what I see playing out. GLTA! |

#12 Posted: 11/4/2008 11:49:45 AM LSU is not the same team, but I think they will play spoiler here. Going to wait for some line movement before I make my pick. Hopefully it goes above+3. |

#13 Posted: 11/4/2008 12:27:32 PM wow. you guys bet on spoilers? where is the information to bet a very horrible 2008 LSU team here. Lsu was dominated by a very bad UGA team which was dominated by ALABAMA and florida. let me break this down for you:
GA LOSES TO ALABAMA
LSU LOOSES TO GA..BIG
Now... ALABAMA COMES TO LSU. ANY one care to finish...

Crimson Tide are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings in Louisiana State.
Favorite is 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 meetings.
Road team is 10-1-1 ATS in their last 12 meetings.

#15 Posted: 11/4/2008 12:52:01 PM Bama at -3 is a gift.....This reminds me of the Tennessee game last year at Bama.... Everyone was looking for the line to be way higher but it came in at Bama -1 at home...... This was before they emploded.....Bama won that game by over 30 points.... IMO this is the same type deal.... Bama should be favored by 4-6 and came in at under 3..... I am on Bama big here..... All the trends just make my decision a whole lot easier.... |

#17 Posted: 11/4/2008 3:53:27 PM I'll tell you this, IF LSU beats Alabama ( which I feel they will !!) they still have a shot at playing Florida in the SEC Championship game. For that to happen, LSU would have to win ALL of their remaining SEC games & Bama would have to lose to either Miss. St or Auburn, which could happen. IF LSU & Bama are tied for 1ST palce in the SEC West when the season ends, LSU would go to the championship game, because they beat Alabama. I know that those are A LOT of IF'S, but stranger things have happened. Look at last year !! IF they do indeed make it to the SEC Championship game, they would have a BETTER CHANCE at beating Florida, than Alabama would !! You don't want to play LSU in a SEC Championship game.

that kind of logic will get you burned more often than it will make you money... things happen more circuitously than linearly in sports... if anything that chain would encourage me to play LSU...
I wouldn't be THAT surpised to see LSU screw saban back, but i'd rather roll the die on bama to come out firing and take a lead into the halftime as they've been so good at this year.
BAMA 1st half

#19 Posted: 11/5/2008 1:37:43 AM Momentum is definately with Alabama here.
I can't think of one reason why LSU would win this game.
I'd give at least 3pts here.

#20 Posted: 11/5/2008 6:43:39 AM Here is a classic example of a good team vs. a over rated team. A great coach vs. a good assistant coach. Finally, a bad line! Simply put, throw the home field advantage in the trash can! ALABAMA will cover against the most over rated L.S.U. team in years! Roll Tide! Unbuckle here! |

#21 Posted: 11/5/2008 11:11:24 AM Big bet on Alabama against a seriously over-rated LSU squad.
Not sure if Bama throws up another 50 plus on that "vaunted SEC D" of LSU, but they cover 3 easily.
SEC is still a very good conference(although that whole D thing is a bit over-rated when you have high-school level offenses on some of the teams), but the LSU and Auburn fans are living in the past. LSU is average and Auburn is bad.
Florida is the cream of the crop here and I look forward to the Bama/Fla SEC championship. THAT will be a helluva game. |

#22 Posted: 11/5/2008 12:31:57 PM If LSU had a better QB I would give them some consideration but they don't. I think LSU has been overrated all year long and Alabama has shined in the spotlight all year long, even more on the road. I think it's close in the first half but I see Alabama pulling away. This is not the same LSU team in the past.
Alabama 24 LSU 13

#24 Posted: 11/5/2008 3:12:25 PM Cody will be back for the Tide. Things just got a little tougher for the LSU offense, especially the center. Bama should cruis in this by at least 7.

#25 Posted: 11/5/2008 7:46:37 PM Three point spread makes no sense the way the two teams have been playing of late as well as the direction they appear to be going. Bama -3 looks too easy to be the right play. At the same time LSU hasn't shown me anything except that they have been getting stomped by other good teams.
