This will be one of my games for the week, I just don't know if I should take it now or hope it goes up.... I think this line will go down so might take it now.... I agree with Colonel Jim, this seems a good spot for a slight let down and only once since 1988 has Florida covered a 23 spread against Ole Miss and they've had some great teams since then.... also, injury bug starting to hit Florida, although they have plenty of depth....but I'll take the 23 and run with it.... Sharp

i really have a hard time understanding why anyone would be Ole Miss in this game... is Ole Miss really good enough to hang with what may be the best team in CFB? definitely one of the top 3?
23 points at home? really doesn't seem like it would be that hard for UF to cover... it's not like Ole Miss is a serious team...

Jevan Snead is going to be one of the premier q'backs in the SEC. Ole Miss outplayed WFU at home and lost the game in the final mins. They also played VANDY tough, and we know how they are faring in the SEC, so far. Houston Nutt is a crafty coach and knows FLA very well. I agree with the letdown scenario as well, and i'm a huge GATOR fan. I'm taking the REBELS and the points on this one...for what it's worth. Huge props to you, SHEP ! I love your insight into the NCAA game and your consistently solid picks.

Since you asked:
In their last 26 games as a double digit dog, the Rebs are 20-6 ATS
In the last 3 games of this series Ole Miss is 3-0 ATS and 2-1 SU.
Ole Miss’s two loses this season were both to teams that are currently ranked and both games went down to the wire.
I never thought I would be saying this going into the 5th week of the season, but in terms of YPG, Ole Miss is doing much better than Florida is.Ole Miss is currently ranked 4th in the SEC in YPG with 402.5. Florida is currently ranked 10th in the SEC with 337.7 YPG.
Tim Tebow has not been having a great season thus far.So far he is averaging 163 passing yards per game and 39 rushing yards per game.
Also Ole Miss has a history of playing top 10 SEC teams very close:
In 2007 Ole Miss played #3 Florida at home as a 24.5 point dog.Ole Miss lost SU by 6.
In 2006 Ole Miss played #9 LSU on the road as a 28.5 point dog.Ole Miss lost SU by 3 in OT.
In 2006 Ole Miss played #7 Auburn at home as a 19 point dog.Ole Miss lost SU by 6.
In 2006 Ole Miss played #10 Georgia at home as a 18 point dog.Ole Miss lost SU by 5.
Ole Miss +24 for me.

Great points sharp. however i think we're just too over matched this weekend. mainly because of floridas rush defense and the fact that snead turned the ball over 4 times against vandy, we'll say 3 considering the last was a desperation. BUT even though i believe we get beat something like 38-13 im going to make a cardinal sin and bet with my heart...very small play on ole miss SU just for the hell of it.

Florida definitely a top 3 team in all of CFB? I won't discount them, but "definitely top 3" is quite a statement...
USC (and keep your pants on, i know they lost to oregon state, i'd still take them on a neutral site against any team in the country), Oklahoma, Georgia, LSU, Mizzou, Texas...maybe even Texas Tech, 'Bama, Ohio State, Penn State...Do you really categorically exclude eight of these teams from the top 3?
Argument above is really not relevant to the game, but I'm on Miss here; Snead easily keeps this within 2 TDs

First thought was this was alot of points to give. But with USC loss all teams in the top 5 will really be trying to run there scores up BIG time everyone wanting to be # 1. Damn really wish Gators were playing Georgia this weekend winner would be # 1 for sure.
