Waiting for the over/under on this one. UGA should handle ASU, but Carpenter could have a big night against the Georgia secondary if he has time to throw. Averaging over 350 yards per game passing, but they will not be able to run against the stronger, faster Dawgs. UGA has too many weapons on offense for ASU to contain and the running game with Moreno will give ASU fits. Do not be fooled by the 14 point showing last week, SC has an outstanding defense, was at home, and desperate after the upset loss to Vandy on the road. Seven point road wins in the SEC are very acceptable, especially in the UGA/SC series.
This one could be a shootout. Dawgs should cover, but the over will be the easier bet if the number is below 60. If UGA gets a pass rush like Texas did against ASU, or UGA did against Hawaii, it will be a huge blowout. I think ASU throws short, quick passes and will negate the pass rush.

everyone likes Georgia... this has the wreak of a SU ASU win... because nobody at all thinks it will happen...
UGA is travelling almost 2000 miles to play this game... that is their longest regular season road trip in 50 years... over the last 35 years, UGA hasn't travelled more than 175 miles to play a non-conference game... everyone made a big deal about Cal travelling across the country to play an east coast morning game... now we have UGA travelling across the country to play a west coast night game...
call me crazy, but somehow ASU will win this game outright...

(UGA alum and homer here)
Game is being played 8:00pm EST, so the time will NOT be a factor
Also, weather shouldnt be a big factor either as it is hotter (factoring in the humidity) in the south.
The only way ASU wins this game is with their passing game. UGA had some problems last week getting a good pass rush from the DE's, while running a soft cover defense. Our LB's also weren't able to match up that well against their TE. However the DT's played very well against the run.
That being said, I still think the UGA secondary is solid enough to stop Rudy Carpenter, and I think we'll get enough pressure on him to force some mistakes/turnovers.
I am expecting a high scoring game by UGA standards, with UGA covering and winning by 14.
UGA 38 ASU 24

Mark Richt is not taking his team to AZ until Friday, and has said he is worried about their preparation hot weather because it has been unseasonably cool in Athens leading up to the game.
This is similar to what happened in the week leading up to the Georgia Southern game where we also saw a LOT of cramps from the UGA players and GSU ended getting a couple late scores against the backups.

UGA has been looking forward to this game just as much as ASU has. All we heard in the offseason was how are we gonna get thru this difficult schedule, and ASU has always been mentioned. They will be ready.

Judging from the ASU performance last week, they have been preparing for Georgia for the last 2 weeks...They both are overrated in my opinion and the old hard to beat a Pac10 team at home theory shouldn't apply here just ask UNLV...
Still, no play for me here. I just have no idea which team will show up. Good Luck

Look at the top ten 5 are from the SEC gentlemen, there are no glamour points, a win is a win. That said Ga's offensive line was exposed by a tough SC defense and was tweaked during practice this week. The pundits havn't bought into Ga to busy pumping USC, Ohio St ..... Ga is young but typically your Pac teams allow tons of points and that plays in Ga's favor, thier defense will be the toughest ASU probably will meet and the offense will score setting up for an easy cover and over play.

Florida vs. Tennessee +13.5 and Georgia vs. Arizona St +13 (6-point teaser, 2.2 units to win 2) - I really didn't wanna add a teaser to the card because both of these games scare me. I have faith in Arizona St and Rudy Carpenter, but I still think Knowsean Moreno will win the Heisman this year. Tennessee always plays tough at home and especially when the Gators come to town. Arian Foster needs to get on his horse here because he hasn't done well in his career against Florida. Tim Tebow is still having a great season but there is less pressure on him because the defense is playing so well. Two home dogs on primetime tv. One in their SEC opener and basically the winner of this game should take the SEC East. The other home dog got upset last week and needs to rebound with a strong performance.

not much for you guys here... my bad in advance

ASU screwed me too but that is ancient history. Georgia hasn't travelled west of the Mississippi for a non-bowl game since LBJ was President. Don't expect this one to stick to the script. I love the home dog here.

Well my friend the reason behind me looking at the over was because of what both offenses have on the team as weapons. Both teams pretty much contain scoring machines on offense.
The problem with Arizona's St high powered offense is that if the offensive line faces a team that can put up a good pass rush they have problems adjusting to it. To take the pressure off of Carpenter they have got running back Keegan Herring that can run through the holes and keep the Georgia defense in check with the running game, but then again the ASU offensive line has had problems with quick defenders and I can see that happening here.
If I took the over I would need to have Georgia to probably score the 50 all by themselves if ASU cannot stop the Georgia D.
The biggest problem I have with this game is that it seems as though ASU shows up and covers in big games but in games such as against UNLV they come down to their opponents level.
If I do touch this game I will probably invest in Georgia at the half -4 but It depends on how my morning games pan out whether it's a small or big investment.
Good luck this weekend my friend

You want Georgia? Send me your money and I'll never give it back. Pac 10 teams score, score, score. ASU will be in this one to the very end. Not gonna be as easy as you think.

ASU
look ahead game or not this score, score, score PAC 10 team could not score, score, score enough to beat UNLV last week
I took ASU last week they made UNLV look like a top BCS team and cost me some cash.
With Knowshon Moreno in Georgia's backfield they better hope they can stop them from scoring,scoring,scoring.....
With all that said it doesn't matter at the moment cause I'm still thinking about this one.
Good luck on your ASU pick
