no Spa today.  a shame only six gals in a G1 open to older.  bounce back today minor ding yesterday.

race 5

3 WP
3, 5 ebx

5/2 ml.  recency, late speed, pattern.  still think this guy has more to offer.  got a crap ride last out and came running late.

race 7

4 WP

5/2 ml.  warning:  he can be a beast or a dud.  IF HE fires edge on late speed at this distance.  seems to get along with Gomez.  i like the little layoff he's popped big previously with this kind of break and i like the drills (pender is 21% off a 31-60 day break).  in this race i expect a setup for him he will have a chance to nail them late it's up to him to do it.

race 8

2 WPS

9/2.  late speed, pattern.  could have thrown in the towel but he made up a ton of ground.  2nd time out today should improve quite a bit.  Baffert has in my view an extremely vulnerable chalkie on the outside.  he's coughed it up late twice now and I will look to beat him.  5 is intriguing and 6 may be overbet as well in my view.

race 9

G1 Pacific Classic

8 WPS

tri 2, 3, 8/2, 3, 8/ 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9

obviously Game on Dude is the best horse in this race and clearly the fastest.  but, maybe just a tiny guy in the armor on distance and surface here.  so i'll try to beat him and see if i can get a tri with him in 3rd or worse.  8 might be able to run all day long.  he beat a 15 horse field going ten panels on the green.

race 11

8/1 ml.  Big field of maidens have to go 9 furlongs.  Recency (really like the drills after the debut), Trainer, Breeding.

regarding this 8 some of you may think I am crazy.  look I know it's a G1 and ten furlongs and a big field.  i am giving him a shot he should be 7/1ish with Game on Dude maybe 3/5.  his first race in the US he sat off a 46.4 and 1:09.4 clip and just missed winning a G1.  he ran a mile and a quarter in 1:58 in Argentinia (and I know those times could be suspect).  i think he can show pace and stamina here today.  i like the drills since the last with a 6F move and a recorded drill at a mile.  who knows what happens but hopefully he keeps running and has a chance late.

hey buddy what's going on?

brilliant move by the Sox.  when I heard my first reaction was "maybe we'll go to another game this year'

beckett is a complete POS.  he doesn't even care he's a total douche.  crawford i like as a person but he's bound to get hurt.  Gonzo's shoulder is gone but he's a solid guy and a good player.  too much jesus stuff for me though he has no balls.

just shed a shitload of payroll and got rid of beckett

swinging against baffert's 3/5 chalkie.  he doesn't look like a beast to me he's already had two shots.  this 4 should perk up and be much more fit with those drills since his debut.

Didn't know about Gonzo's shoulder. I thought he was the key. Guy has put up some awesome numbers over the years. Crawford had some great years with Tampa but has not done much since. If he can get healthy he sure has the talent.
I agree with you on Beckett.

Gonzo's power numbers fell off a cliff after the first half of his first season.  he's a nice player and will hit over .300 and play solid D but not sure he can do the 40/130 thing.  crawford as i said i like him as a guy he's solid.  but no chance in hell he's worth 21 mil a year.

the owners have been getting absolutely pummeled by the real fans and the media for wasting money and letting the players control everything.  also getting hammered for focusing on making Fenway a museum and theme park as opposed to a baseball stadium.  there were quite a few empty seats and the ratings on NESN were diving (they own 80% of NESN) so they pulled the trigger.

How do they feel about losing that kid GM. Didn't he go to the Cubs.

9 WPS

5/1.  should be able to gun down these stiffs late in the lane.  take it easy he's only 10/24 in the exacta so he can flop but this race fits him well.

a lot of people give Dan Duquetter more credit for building the two World Series teams and they were glad to see Theo leave because of Lackey, Crawford, Cameron, and Jenks.  I think the owners forced him to spend recklessly like that since they felt they could fool the sheep that show up every night from now until eternity.
