How about they bring back the Mass Cap at Suffolk Downs ![]()
It's funny you say that, Soze. I just finished reading this book. It was entertaining, if you're into that sort of thing. Lots of interesting stories and anecdotes about the 2000 season at Suffolk Downs.

spost333 is correct no rabbit would be entered because invitation only.
If they do meet the odds with the bookies are:
RA -110
Zenyatta +120
But would love to see what the odds would be if they actually did meet in a 7 horse field or something. Only way people would run there horses against RA/Zen is to say they ran with those two. Ofcourse they will most likely be racing for 2nd maybe even 3rd. Unlikely any horse right now would be able to beat RA/Zen in the same race. I would say Rachel Alexandra 4/5 and Zenyatta 6/5, exacta $4.70 ;)
Everyone is saying the Apple Blossom which is too soon imo.
WHY NOT JUST THE BREEDER'S CUP @ Fair Grounds this year? It's only 90% Rachel will be in the Breeder's Cup this year and I don't see why Zenyatta would not run in it. That to me seems like the likely match-up. Maybe its too far away and Zenyatta might get retired by then? But I don't see why they just don't meet @ this years Breeder's Cup.

Ummm, no. Presuming the purse is in the 3-5 million range, you are getting close to or over 100k for a fith place finish. That's more than some of these horses would get for winning other qualifying stakes races (case in point, Gabby's Golden Girl just won $125k for winning her last stakes race).
As far as a RA/Z matchup, it could happen anytime, but there is a good argument for waiting. An older female race could occur the Derby/Oaks day or Belmont Day (probably not Preakness as would be difficult size wise to accomidate the additional crowd and needs for adding them to the field).

Like I Said Above:
From the DRF
Owner Jess Jackson announced in a press release late Wednesday afternoon that Rachel Alexandra would not be ready to run against a horse the caliber of Zenyatta in the Apple Blossom
Meanwhile, Jackson said he has had discussions with the National Thoroughbred Racing Association about a proposed three-race series between Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta, but did not mention where and when those races would be.
Shirreffs echoed Jackson's comments when he acknowledged that racing fans are craving an eventual meeting for Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta.
"Everyone wants to see Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta run against each other," he said. "There's no question about that."

I think this will set a terrible example for the industry and elite horses. Will a horse win the Derby and have his connections hold out for increased purses or retire them?
With that said I really look foward to seeing them race each other.

OK who else shows up? For Fillies and Mares 4 year old and up.
Atlass and Mikey you two seem to more about the east coast. Any other contenders? I don`t see much from the west. Santa Maria tomorrow. Only horse that I have any interest is St Trinians. Good test for this horse but still not at the same level of...pretty much nothing.
