Fair question.If you are losing then perhaps stop the bleeding and give it a break.I had my worst week last week losing significant chunk of money and now I am taking a long break.What is more painful almost all my losses were by a 1 point or .5.Just makes it even more painful.
Anyone who makes consistent money doing this is a genius! I am serious.The only sport I do great is baseball.Love baseball.I took NFL huge dogs like Raiders,Pitt and got my ass kicked so nothing is easy.
I'll be interested to see honestly if you are making money in hoops.

i think if you ask most gamblers the majority will say that college hoops is your best chance against the #,for a multitude of reasons

I've been hovering around the same amount of money for the entire NFL season.  Now that College BB has started, I've been steadily climbing.  Last week I had a stretch tailing the best cappers and won 11 straight.  My only play in the past week was Duke vs. Michigan only because I'm very familiar with Michigans program. 
 
Bet smaller amounts and tail the most common picks you see in the college BB forum.  You will get some back unless everyone gets cold which is hard to do at this time of the year.

as far as tailing,i do and quite a few of these cappers know their college hoops-you sb watching helmut (the totals king ) & apac to name a few

I started the year out strong...then lost money due to my faulty perception that the packers were mediocre and the chargers were still an elite team.....
 
However I started up again after about a month off and I have been on fire since.....
 
If you get burned by .5 to 1 points  why don't you just do moneyline parlays...thats what I have been doing...and I have been killing it.......research every heavy 9+ point favorite for potential upsets and then pick the best ones.......I'm not against betting 2000 to win 800......some bettors are....

Chess....you are too good to give up.Just take a few days off and come back.I have tailed your half plays and never knew you to lose.Maybe you are just losing your bigger bets and winning your smaller ones.That's what has hurt me and others in the past............it seems to be all about money management..You are a good capper.Hang in there buddy .

I know a good capper who only picks 1 or 2 games a day and averages 7-5 or 8-4 or 6-6  a  week.He bets $1,000 a pop,which is too rich for my blood,but he always wins.His goal is to win $1,000 per week and makes a living doing this.When he goes 9-3 or 8-4,he puts anything over $1,000 in the "fund" in case he goes 4-8 the next week.He wins 40 out of 52 weeks and hits 60% year round.You can win at this....trust me.

this is what i try to do. sometimes ill only play a few a week. it also keeps me from increasing the size of my bets to a ridiculous amount

collectnow you follow that capper and you will win.the 1 or 2 play a day the bookies dont like . guys on most of these forums end up losing because they play to many games. nothing wrong with making 200-300 a week =800-1200 a month. ive been doing this for 35 yrs. less plays .

I am 'relatively' new to sports betting, ie. less than 5 years.  Over the past few years I have learned to limit myself.  For me, I treat it as entertainment and get a lot of enjoyment from it. I am fortunate to have a pretty good job and won't risk my shorts on betting. I don't have anything against anyone who does, but if at all possible, try and play within your means where winning/losing a game isn't going to make or break the bank.  I think you'll find it even more enjoyable that way.
 
For me, I have had my profits increase substantially over the past couple years playing CBB and some NFL/CFB.  I used to keep betting baseball in the summer, but this sucked up a lot of profit.  This is why i stick to CBB and some NFL/CFB.  CBB also offers some games where the linesmakers haven't taken everything into account, or may have missed a team suspension, other factors, IMO.

Good stuff guys.I think people who make 10 bets a day at 10 bucks a pop are the ones always spinning their wheels,but the big money with less plays seem to do the best.I also don't agree with the betting 3% of your bankroll theory.Why keep all your money in your account when you could have that drawing interest in a bank? A book could also close down and keep your money,or someone could get in your account and take it.I read where one guy  leaves 10 grand in his account  in case of a losing streak so he won't have to reload and bets  $250 per game.If he is actually being truthful,why would he want all that money sitting idly doing nothing? I think making bets of 100  per game with 2 per day and having 500 in your account at all times works best for me.Anything over  $500 i  withdraw  every week and pay myself back.Good luck to all.You CAN win with discipline and common sense.

DON'T GIVE UP! You have a system/edge/theory/hunch/angle-whatever.............JUST BET LESS!
 
You're better at baseball. What does that tell you?

Keep yourself in the game, chess. Don't want to bet any more? Fine. But keep track of games you would have bet-and I don't mean after the fact. Put a spreadsheet on your computer desktop and keep track, or post here with your picks. Nobody cares if you're betting actual money or not, people just WANT TO KNOW WHY
 
Mline, OverUnder, Parlays, whatever-hell, there's one guy here called Weathered-he only makes bets due to weather conditions.
Might be good, might be bad, but what the hell-HE'S THINKING! HE'S PLAYING! HE'S IN THE GAME!

win in nba/ college basketball

not a professional but hobby pays for itself and pays for the time i spend doing it.  not as fun as vegas but nothing is.

the slimmer my bankroll gets, the more conservative I bet and then carefully increase bet amounts when the wad swells.
