Thanks for the Devil's advocate. I did look at this deeper, but didn't include it in the write up.
GW has had 12 true road games(not including neutral sites)
They have been favs only twice in true road games going 1-1 ats. Here's the Gauntlet of hell that they've faced on the road, starting with the most recent:
@Fordham -2, won by 1
@Duquesne -2, won by 7 (cover)
@Davidson +6.5, lost by 11
@Richmond +5, lost by 9
@Rhode Island +10.5, lost by 12
@George Mason +3, won by 19 (cover)
@Lasalle +6.5, lost by 10
@VCU +11.5, lost by 30
@St. Joe's +4, lost by 5
@Miami +14.5, lost by 8 (cover)
@Temple +9, won by 3 (cover)
@Harvard +3, won by 3 (cover)
5-7 ats on the road sounds bad don't it. 3 times they came 1.5 or less points away from covering though. 8-4 would sound much better. And look at the competition...8 of them teams made it to the tourney or the NIT.
Now they are laying 5.5...shouldn't we be scared? I'm not
