UNCW has a legit shot against UVA and then they play a Florida team that didn't end the year well. Yes, UVA plays great defense but UNCW has one of the strongest offenses in the field

their "to win" is 500-1 @ the Westgate Las Vegas. BUT they get Iowa State 1st round
personally I like the "Clones" chances in that bracket. chanced their "to win" @ 90-1. I think the top 3 in that bracket, Kansas, Louisville and Oregon are NOT that SCARY

Nevada would be a great dog if they weren't facing a team that plays the exact style as them and the hottest team in the tournament. Don't kid yourself no one is hotter and shoots the ball better then all those kids at ISU. And ISU has been there done that senior lead team. With one of the best point guards the ncaa has seen this decade. It's been 15 years since as pg has a state line of 35 mpg, under 1 turnover a game, and 5+ assists a game. Nevada has 1 advantage. Size. But they will be no match for the cyclones

I think MTSU and Winthrop both pulls upsets setting up that always familiar 12/13 matchup that occurs every year. MTSU to the Sweet 16, but looses to a much more powerful UNC team after that.
In the 2nd round, if Duke plays South Carolina, I think S. Carolina in that game. It's kind of a defacto home game for S. Carolina, and I feel Frank Martin will have the team ready for that potential matchup.
You can't really go wrong with Rhode Island right now, and while i'm tempted to pick them to the Sweet 16, I just can't do it. Remember though, Oregon is without Chris Boucher and Rhode Island's bigs were on fire during the A10 tourney.
Finally, Do not Sleep on SMU folks. IMHO they are the only team in the East Bracket capable of taking down Villanova. Duke would have a shot too, but SMU is playing a special brand of ball right now. They have a message to send, and I think they send it this year. Larry Brown recruited these kids, so you know they are special. I have SMU shocking the World and making the Final Four.

If you have SMU to the Final Four, you might as well take them to the championship game!

As a bias VT fan. UNCW has NO chance against UVA. Watched UNCW this year, those kids won't be able to score over 50 against UVA. UVA wins, Covers, easily.

I like VT against wisconsin...I think they can push the tempo against these guys the way Sparty did to counter their interior advantage and they shoot all the better. Wiscy is very vulnerable from three.
A key to beating UVA is definitely rebounding Before beating UNC the Hoos were 0-3 ats when outrebounded and UNCW can't rebound. I don't think UVA is the kind of sexy team who may overlook an opponent, too much experience for that, too, with senior Parrantes at the helm.

I just wanna say it's nice when people follow simple instructions. The man asked to post your upset picks with reasoning, and he gets about 7 straight post with just picks. SMH. I just wanna say thank you to all of those who posted picks with reason. I unfortunately am a type of better that puts together a couple of ml favs together. Don't watch a lot of hoops, and I feel you need to watch games and styles of play to be good at picking good underdogs. So I get my underdog plays from cappers on here who have sound reasons that make sense, and get zero value from those that just post Michigan -6.

Don't get the Nevada love. Who have they beaten all season? The only tournament team they beat this season was Iona. Don't see much of a reason why Iowa State won't handle them.

I am a true Gonzaga believer. Like the VT guy above who has watched UNC-Wilmington, I know what I have seen in Gonzaga.
In their first game Gonzaga will handle SDSU by 20-30 pts easy.
Next I am guessing they play Vandy, but even if they play N'Western, this is another 15-20 point blowout win.
Now their in the Sweet 16, WVU and Notre Dame could give them some trouble, but Zags will be playing in San Jose, CA. A De Facto home game for them since there are many Zags alumni here, It's a 2 hour flight from Spokane, and Zags have played 4 games in the Bay Area, while WVU and ND have played none. Zags win a close one in the Sweet 16.
An Elite 8 matchup with U of A is inevitable for the Zags. This is where one of my brackets will have Zags, and other will have U of A. Does U of A get revenge? There is no homecourt for either team here. It'll be 50/50 in San Jose for this game. I see Zags down early, but their depth gets to the Wildcats and they advance to their first ever Final Four.
A Nova/Zags matchup would be one for the ages. I think SMU upsets Nova though. Now Zags vs. SMU, Zags play a similar style, with a bunch more talent. SMU is talented, but not like Zags. Tillie and Collins DONT START for Zags and are surefire NBA Lotto picks. Your going to see a lot of 3 man (7 foot) sets against smaller teams by Zags in NCAA Tourney.
Finally, KU is an awesome team. UNC is also an awesome team. Kentucky has a shot here. So does L'Ville if they can get past those hot Wolverines. But Gonzaga is too strong, and once again get a de facto home game in Phoenix, AZ. Easy for Zags fans to fill up, and realize this may be their BEST SHOT at winning a National Championship.
So long story short: I like SMU, but I like Gonzaga a lot better!
