The news has just broke that Louisville officials told the players today they are self imposing a postseason ban for this year due to what came out over the summer involving Louisville
The NCAA is investigating the claims of a former madam who claims in a book that a former Louisville assistant paid her and her escorts from 2010-2014 to have sex and strip for potential recruits and players on the Louisville roster
So no ACC Tournament or NCAA tournament for Louisville this year. My thoughts are Louisville in doing this is trying to throw itself at the mercy of the NCAA to avoid what they believe to be crippling sanctions. An interesting thing lately in college hoops has been the NCAA's phrase "Lack of Head Coach control" which means as an HC if you didn't know and even if there's no way you could've known....You still should've known. I believe by doing this they're hoping for the NCAA to hammer Rick Pitino and not the school
I feel bad for guys like Damion Lee and Trey Lewis who transferred in from mid majors to play at Louisville to make an NCAA tourney run and because of this they won't get to. But as that old saying goes in college sports.. The Guilty got away and the innocent will suffer
When you're handicapping Louisville games for the rest of the year factor this news into your handicapping. Even if Louisville can't go to postseason they can screw up postseason chances for othersThat's an angle I like to use
Just keeping everyone informed Your thoughts on this news guys?
