Rough 0-2 day on Saturday. A tough beat with Iona, and a game I just flat out capped wrong with Montana State. Only one play for me on Sunday....
U Mass +3 (1.1 to win 1) - I do like Boston College this year, I really do, this however is a tough spot for them. They come off a tough OT loss at Providence just two days ago, and bouncing back from losses like that is never easy. That's a game BC easily could have, and probably should have won. They'll be no time to sit around and sulk though as into town less than 48 hours later comes a very talented U Mass team. Last year U Mass was the 12th fastest team in the nation in terms of adjusted tempo at nearly 71 possessions per game. Leading that fast break offense is PG Chaz Williams who for my money is one of the best PG's in the nation, and quite possibly the best player in the Atlantic 10. The Minutemen only lost 2 contributing players from last years 21 win team and also welcome in transfer Derrick Gordon from Western Kentucky. Gordon was a highly recruited kid who played on the same High School team as Michael Kidd Gilchrist. Gordon was the 2nd best player on that powerhouse team and Sun Belt Freshman of the year at WKU. In short, he can really play, and is very nice addition to the squad. Overall this is a more athletic and talented U Mass team in my mind. Given the situation with BC coming off a heartbreaking loss i'd have played U Mass at +1 or even at PK here, so i'll gladly take +3.
