3 Rule changes in College bball

1)have jump balls no more garbage possession arrows&#xD;&#xA;2)have players foul out at 6 instead of 5.  &#xD;&#xA;3)24 second shot clock&#xD;&#xA;Agree or disagree with these?

Number 3 has the highest chance of occurring. They are already talking about shorting the shot clock due to how drastically scoring has went down in CBB over the past few years. Though they are talking about shortening it to 30 seconds, not 24.

30 seconds would be ok with me. 35 is just too long.... Ktrain why wouldn&#x27;t you want 6 fouls? I feel guys go to bench to quickly with a 2nd foul. 6 would prevent that a little. Keeps better players in the game

I like the 30 second shot clock idea. While I agree that 35 is too long, 24 is too short. I don&#x27;t think it would do anything to benefit the offenses at all. In fact, 24 might hurt offenses. Look at Wichita State tonight, there were a few teams they needed all 9 seconds afforded to them just to get the ball to half court. With a 24 second clock they would only have 15 seconds to run their offense. Not exactly a ton of time for college kids. I like the five fouls because it actually penalized guys for fouling where six fouls really doesn&#x27;t penalize them all that much. I think what needs to happen is the touch fouls need to go away, especially the ones 20 feet or more from the basket. I think the charging call needs to be addressed too. I have the belief that guys should try and block shots rather than rely on the charge. It seems like to many questionable calls get the benefit of the doubt for the defender. I think if there is any doubt, it&#x27;s a block. I think 5 fouls is fine, I just think that if an official is going to whistle a guy for a foul, it should be an obvious foul. However, I don&#x27;t think going to 6 fouls would run the game though.

Also keep in mind that the NBA game is 8 minutes longer and they won't foul down 8 with a minute to go.

Give college coaches an extra foul per person and that might extend a game by another hour in real time.

another rule change I would like to see that doesn&#x27;t come into play all that often but I have seen more than a few times.. when a team has to foul intentionally when they are down late and have 3 or 4 team fouls and end having to foul again and again and again to get it to 7.. Need to change it to 7 team fouls or 2 fouls in the final 2 minutes like the NBA

I want people to be penalized for fouling, but if touch fouls continue they shouldn&#x27;t be heading to the bench so quickly. So officiating has a lot to do with that. The jump ball is my biggest complaint. Always felt that way

Possesion arrow is stoopid. It rewards noone except acknowledges randomness.

There are NOT enough players fouling out of games. 5 is fine, but fouls away from the basket and down inside are conference specific. BE allows too much shot blocking and protects the dribbling penetrator (guard).

Need to have NCAA consistency.

change the backcourt to nba 8 seconds...you must change it 24 seconds shot clock....teams would not need to foul down 6 with 2 minutes left...just play defense..

If the game continues to go with touch fouls and too many charge calls then I would have no issue with six fouls. I would like to see the shot clock go to 30 and I&#x27;m all for jumping it up as oppose to possession arrows.

Perfect example right there about the charging rule needing to be addressed. That shouldn't be a charge on Triche. If it was called as a block all the time the Michigan defender would be inclined to try and block that shot. Now Triche gets a foul that he shouldn't have.

I didn't wager on this game either and I don't care who wins. Just a disclaimer.

I&#x27;m a firm believer that about 3/4 of called charges are blocks. The officials have become accustomed to giving the defensive player the benefit of the doubt. It&#x27;s always easy to see it on instant replay but if there is any doubt in the officials mind, it should be a block. This would also make defensive players less inclined to try and draw charges and more inclined to try and block shots. Which would be a great improvement for the game.
