Can anyone give me the lowdown on Creighton??

Duke has about 1.5 to 2 PTs built into every line just because they are Duke. This line is 5 so the true line, if not Duke playing, is closer to 3.5 or 3. That means this game is close to a coin flip if not very very tight.

I know NOTHING about Creighton. Help me out here with comments as to why bookies think Duke has a legit chance of getting knocked out in the second round after the Lehigh disaster last year...

McDermott will be best player on court, so they have a chance to win for sure. The rest of the players on their team know their roles.Guard play can be shaky at times, but they have a good inside game and good 3 point shooting. Like Buzz Williams says, 'THE TEAM THAT MAKES THE MOST HOOPS WILL WIN".......I think Creighton has a great shot tonight....good luck !

Good info. You think 5 is a good line for a Creighton bet or is this line right where it should be?

It's much more likely the line gets to 6 rather than 4. You may as well hold out and see if you can get 2 full possessions in a game that will have a lot of 3 pointers made.

Creighton seems to have two guys that can score or even sniff the basket and that's it. Look at scoring outside 34 and 3 (mcdermott) The guards can't go to the basket against size. Although those two guys will shoot from anywhere on the court.

Seems to me like Duke will be able to isolate the bigs and win the game handidly. That's about where the line should be, it's a neutral court. I play favorites above 6 points maybe 5% of my bets - no more - and i'd probably play duke here.

  There will be a lot of three pointers attempted, both teams can shoot the lights out, and a key matchup will be both big men inside. Creighton and Duke both have one big man and if one gets in foul trouble that could be the difference..

perimeter oriented team... mcdermott can get his in the post and gets every call as expected.. team plays with chip on shoulder and has work horse in gibbs... solid big guy for being "mid-major" who could get plumlee into foul trouble.

Pretty similar teams but difference is Creighton doesn't have a Seth Curry on their team. McDermott is a big who can shot the three or post you up and take you to the hole.  He's not the most fleet of foot but I'd say he's a more athletic Ryan Kelly.  I'd take Creighton's center over Plumlee every day as he will out physical Plumlee and not allow his usual bunny bullshit over smaller centers. Both teams have serviciable point guards who do a good job managing the game. Both teams have role players who all shoot close to or over 40% from three. 

Statistically they are almost mirror images of each other. Both are top 15 in effective field goal offense and top 70 in eFG defense. Both teams are in the bottom third in offensive rebounding % so neither is really strong on the boards. Both teams play at a medium pace.

It's only a matter of time before Duke goes down as they do not have that physical fight in them that championship teams have (soft). They are a talented albeit unathletic team (aside from Curry) who goes down either tonight or against Michigan State.

I really don't understand this line of thinking.

Just because a league doesn't have constant TV exposure on ESPN doesn't mean it can't have success in the tournament.

Forget who's playing...I will take coach K here and lay 5' gladly. I am not a Duke fan BTW..As long as they don't shoot 25% for the game, Duke wins.  Even if its close at the end, you can cover 5' with all the fouls comitted by a team down 3 or 4...

With as many times as he has been to the Sweet 16, there is no way this team comes flat.  They will be focused and ready.

Mason Plumlee is way more skilled than Echenique. No way Echen gets the advantage in that matchup.

@ post2: McDermott is a top 5 college player. He has almost always been the best player on the court this year. But the next 4 best players on the court plays for Duke.

You're not saying of the top 5 best players in college basketball, McDermott and 4 duke starters are those...at least I hope you're not.

There is no way 4 duke starters make up the top 5 best in CBB. This line would be a lot bigger than 5 if so.

  Creighton also has point forward Grant Gibbs who basically plays skilled old man basketball, always makes the right play, can spot up and shoot the three...He will also have to play well for Creighton to take down Duke..

the line is very tight...the way i see it playing out is duke being up 7 or 8 with a min left with creighton still fighting hard and burying desperation 3's...if you are willing to sweat it out and bank on duke nailing last minute ft's to cover 5 or 6 bet duke imo theres no clear advantage on playing either side bol in what you go with

This way of thinking was exactly why I created the thread. I don't want to take a soft duke line just to take it without having any idea of who they are playing.

You are better off seeing what the scam touts are on.  If you have a strong consensus then bet opposite.  My "favorite" reject scammer tout is on Creighton btw.

If that's truly the way this game will end then I won't be betting it.

What does everyone think about a Creighton tease up to +10. Is that about 90% certainty?
