Only the third time this year I've played anything at 2.5 units. Others were Notre Dame (vs. Kentucky) and Creighton (vs. Nebraska). Somewhat ironic I'm making this big play on UNC and will be fading them next Sunday in a game I have had circled for over a month.
Leans: Santa Clara 1H +11, GMU +3, Xavier +7, Duquesne +6, Idaho PK, IPFW +11.5

UNC's best win this year was a 6 point home win against ECU. Why the faith in them?
I don't think UNC is anything more than the 4th-best team in the ACC and will be making my largest wager of the season next week on Virginia when UNC travels up to Charlottesville.
That said. there's a boatload of reasons for me to like the Heels today. Others have covered the revenge angle, so I'll leave that alone. There's a TON of Anthony Bennett hype, and perhaps it will prove justified. But to this point in the season, he has yet to run into anything more than an average frontline. How will he deal with athletes who can run and jump with him?
UNLV's entire game revolves around transition offense. Problem is, they're going on the road, across the country, and in an unfamiliar early start time against one of the two or three best transition offenses in the country. You don't beat the Heels in Chapel Hill by getting into a track meet. When the game does settle into the halfcourt, UNC has a top-5 on-ball defender in Dexter Strickland, who I anticipate will draw Anthony Marshall. When Marshall is taken out of the offense, UNLV loses its only competent facilitator.
The fact that UNC has looked underwhelming to this point is not relevant to the game this afternoon. I've faded the Heels a handful of times this season but have no reservations about strongly backing them today. This is a team that will play to the level of its competition.
