Agree with all the thoughts from your writeup on Butler. Like the Dogs here as well.

IF Miss State covers (and I don't think they do) then they will likely find themselves a much shorter dog in the game tomorrow (9-12 points) and probably a much better chance to play against them but the tempo that UNC plays with and the major talent advantage makes this a play today IMO. MSU could backdoor their way to a cover but the guys they will have on the floor won't be as good as UNC's reserves. I am thinking that Chaminade could beat a beat up and exhausted MSU team come Wednesday afternoon.

the makeup of Marquette's team is very similar to Xavier who just stomped the Bulldogs pretty good a few days ago. If Butler cannot get a decent amount of 3 point looks, it will likely go the Golden Eagles way as they have a much bigger and stronger inside game.

Interesting take.

If they're similar, Butler was -4.5 on the road in that one. Line difference of >10 here on a neutral?

line difference v.s. what really happened is what counts.....we are still so early in the season.... linemakers are often a little off early on as well

Agree to disagree. What happens on the court in the last game has no bearing on what happens in the future. Each game is independent of all other games...matchups, offensive and defensive philosophies, prep time, travel, etc...

sure....fair enough.......but i do believe the match ups and philosophies here are in play.....marquette plays tough defense....all of buzz williams teams do...but this year is a little different offensively....they have an inside presence that they havent had in past years....that inside scoring threat along with a backcourt that plays excellent defense = butler struggles if they can't get good looks, which is what happened against xavier.....marquette also likes to run...so if that type of pace is involved here, then i like their chances....i have -3 from last evening, so maybe we both hit

Too many questions for me.

Does Mercer find offense without it's PG and best player?

How does Wake come into a snail off a high-tempo team?

Can Wake defend anyone?

Do you think UCLA is a top 5 team with Shabazz? I think they have the talent to play with anyone, just not sure if they have the mindset. I will most likely be parlaying their ML with the Memphis (nba) ML....

Any thoughts on USC/Illinois tonight?
