#4 Posted: 1/16/2012 12:33:44 PM I'm sure we can get a cleverly designed 1st or 2nd rd matchup vs a tough opponent, maybe have them face eaach other...if that don't work, there's always sanctions.
Power must stay with the conferences that pay for it. |

They finished 2nd to the powers that be: Duke and UConn. 2nd place doesn't change power . |

Top 25 gets more publicity. online scoreboards and mewspapers usually only cover the top 25. |

#9 Posted: 1/16/2012 12:49:03 PM did you forget that 90-80 win over NC by Unlv or beating #19 at the time Illinois,I dont see nothing wrong with them being in the top 25 and Murr St is unbeaten, and they did play Mem when they were #21. alot worse rankings than that out there |

#11 Posted: 1/16/2012 12:57:44 PM this has to be one of the most ridiculous comments i have ever heard.....i guess when one of them makes the sweet 16 or even elite 8 you will still be saying this? |

#12 Posted: 1/16/2012 1:03:06 PM same thing for Houston in football, or Boise St. before their successes, or TCU or all the other small powers to be before the BCS monopolizes all of college football. |

#15 Posted: 1/16/2012 1:19:12 PM UNLV beat a few elite teams this year already. Look for them to beat them again in March. |

A few of them are bound to get past the 'perimeter of power,' but we have 'mechanisms' to take care of that later on down the line, come Tourney time.
To answer your question, noone really. UNLV and Murray St are legit, probably St Mary's, SDSU and Creighton, a few others, too. Point is to surround those teams with attention, call them "Cinderellas," and other names, make it difficult psychologically to break through for the key wins they need.
Big 10, Big 12, ACC and Big East "pay for the lights" and therefore need to be fed at the trough come March-April. |
