Posting this now although I won't take the line until just before tip-off. I consider 7 a key number in basketball because it signifies a three possession game. I'm hoping that Duke backers push the line down to at least 7 if not 6.5 before tip off, otherwise I will still play the game at 7.5. Ohio State completely over matches Duke inside the paint. Duke is a pretty small and young team and typically work from outside to in. They don't seem to have great chemistry yet and I expect the young eager talent in Rivers and Curry to clash and ultimately take away from the overall success of Duke's offense. Ohio State, being bigger and more physical on the interior should dominate the glass and points in the paint. For Duke to hang in this game, they'll need to hit a high percentage of outside shots, a feat I don't think they'll be able to accomplish on the road in Ohio State. The reverse line movement across the key number of 7 is a dead giveaway by the odds makers. Ohio State will roll and make a big statement early in the season that they're elite. Hoping for a better number, but I'll settle for 7.5 if I have to - as I see a 10-12 point Buckeye victory this evening. These are rare plays for me. I'm 11-1 on NCAAB wagers in 2011.

Have to disagree on almost everything. I keep seeing how everyone says duke is so young. They start one freshman, and 4 juniors. More upperclassmen than Ohio st. Just tired of seeing that to be honest.
Small? Plumlee is the exact size and build that gives sullinger trouble. Big, tal, athletic forward.
As for chemistry, I'd say they looked pretty well winning in Maui IMO
7.5 seems like a lot for a game that could go either way. Dukies for me grabbing the points
BOL bud!

Young in terms of the number of games they've played together running the offense they're currently running. OSU is a much more put together and practiced squad.
I'm not even going to address the idea that Plumlee can be in any way compared to Sullinger. This is just ludicrous.

opened this thread just now knowing you would be on ohio st
Hang around these parts for long enough and you start to figure out some guys styles. I probably wouldn't have played this game had the line movement not occurred. But Vegas tipped their hand tonight. Those that saw the cards knew how to bet the game.
Appreciate it Prof, can't wait for the NBA season to get started... I usually don't start wagering until Christmas day anyways so I won't feel like I missed a thing! I look forward to some good conversations in that forum soon.

Now 12-1 in 2011 on NCAAB wagers. In hindsight, I wish I had made this a double bet. It was close to being one but since it never dropped to my key number of 7 or 6.5 again I kept it at 1u. That's why wagers are placed before the game I guess. A wins a win.. no complaining allowed.
