I am a big Bama fan and unlike football I can look at basketball much more realistically. I really like Anthony Grant. He is going to do some good things at Alabama once he gets the pieces in place. He had a great early signing class for next year and that will more than likely be his first tournament team.
This season I think is about continuing to improve and learning to win. He has blown a gasket in Puerto Rico about the team's lack of intensity against Iowa. They played hard and at times very well against Seton Hall but didn't defend well at all. The Iowa game was pathetic. I really believe that the team was heart broken over the Seton Hall game and failed to show up against a below average Iowa team.
Yesterday Grant cancelled a team outing and instead put his team through a grueling practice. He is trying to figure out what this team is and can be about. There are some guys getting called out and challenged to play better.
In the Iowa game Bama managed to shoot a paltry 2-16 from 3 point range. They got to the line only 9 times and got outrebounded by a team that shouldn't outrebound them. Charvez Davis, their 3 point specialist, was 0-5 against Iowa and they got nothing from Senario Hillman either.
I expect them to get the ball inside against St Peter's. Green can be very good and he should do very well against SPC. They don't have a very big frontline and Green does very well when he is the best big man on the floor. Bama's other forward, Mitchell, will have an oppurtunity to do what he does best and that is collect trash and get put backs.
Even though SPC will slow the tempo down I think Bama will play a lot of people and wear them down over the course of the game. I was expecting an 8-10 pont spread and was surprised when it opened as high as it did.
Bama will defend better today, play harder, and control the glass. They will get to the free throw line more and that will be enough to win and cover.

im not so sure you are looking at their hoops team any more realistically if you really think it a good idea to lay double digits in what is sure to be a grind it out affair..sounds like your analysis is based more off hope than anything you have actually seen...

What I have seen is that this team moves the ball better on offense than it has in the past. Releford, Mitchell, and Green are all good players. This team played very well against a pretty good Seton Hall team. It lost due to turnovers and getting outscored at the free throw line. The Iowa game was one where they just didn't come ready. I expect a much better effort today and I believe that they dominate the glass and win at the free throw line.
This is a 17-13 (8-8) type team. But they will be better than last year and they play hard and defend pretty well most of the time.

that is fine i agree they are heading the right direction but i think you are asking a lot for them to cover double digits against a team like this...either way GL at least one of us will be happy
