Good luck. This is like betting on Oklahoma Thunders without Kevin Durant. This is a classic case where people are betting on a TEAM NAME/JERSEY versus the BETTER roster. Northern Iowa didn't beat Kansas BUT DOMINATED them!!! Now we all are betting on a team (Michigan St) that would NEVER even make this tournament if they played without Lucas the entire year. This is not like WVU without Bryant. Bryant isn't a big deal for West Virginia, but Lucas is the entire Spartans offense.

This is what has happened today: "OMG I get Tom Izzo at a pickem against a team I've never heard of in the Sweet 16?"

Totally disagree - historically, a team that loses a top player plays very well in their first game without their star.  Secondly, I will take my chances with Tom Izzo having 4 days to prepare, even if you feel like his roster is not as good as the roster of Northern Iowa.  Thirdly, in a 1/2 court game, I like the big bodies & the good defense that Sparty will play.  I would be much more worried if they were playing an athletic uptempo team like OSU or Tenn or K-St, than I am against a 1/2 court team like NoIowa.

Like Cornell last night, the magic run ends for the mid-major today.

Appleseed-your comparison is way off.  Lucas isn't exactly a prolific scorer and the impact a coach has on the college game can be huge.

Cuse averages 15 turnovers a game. Having 18 Turnovers is certainly not uncommon. Its more expected.
