St. Marys has a chance to make this a 2 bid league if they can get to the final . Gonzaga has had trouble with San Fran this year (lost at San Fran and only won at home on Sat by 6)...they could meet in the semis as they are the #1 and #4 seeds. The Toreros have tanked since losing Jackson to a knee injury - I look for them to be 1 and done in this tourney - they'll lose to Santa Clara in the opening round.

Pretty obvious final here - Gonzaga vs. St. Mary's. SMC needs to at least make it to the final to feel pretty good about themselves. Like San Diego and LMU to be the other semifinalists.

The seeding is as conducive as can be for a possible Zag upset.
The Zags will be playing either USF or LMU in the semis, the 2 teams who beat them in conference play. Both these team matchup better against the Zags than either UP or SMC b/c they have the athletes and size in the back court to double the post and the wings, and harass Bouldin up top. Duke used this strategy to perfection against the Zags. The guards for SMC and UP are to small to handle Gray and Bouldin.
Loyola has the best chance at knocking off the Zags imo but to win the tourny they will have to win 4 games in 4 days. Tall order for sure

no idea where all this LMU love is coming from, but I think Portland will take out SMC if there's an upset to be had in here.
A focused Gonzaga team doesn't lose this one, but who knows if we'll get that
Portland has not been the same since their PG Raivio got hurt. They'll probably beat SD or Santa Clara because both teams are pretty bad, but they aren't beating Saint Marys

ZonaCats, are you being serious??? 1st off you said you could see San Diego being a semi final team, obviously you havent watched this team play this year, they are a shawdow of the team they have had the past few years. Also you think Gonzaga would "lay down" so that they could get another WCC team in the tourny? Mark Few knows how important winning this tourny is to both his team, the school, and their seeding in the big dance. They have seen their top 10 ranking fall significantly because of their 2 losses to low level WCC teams, they cannot afford to lose to any team other than St Marys. Also, a lot of people are thinking Loyola MMT can be a sleeper team, you must take into consideration that in order to win this tournament, they will have to win 4 games in 4 days. They have been impressive this year, and I expect them to contend for a WCC championship next year, seeing as how they have no Srs on their team, but I cant see them pulling this out.

Also, another thought thats been running through my head is Austin Daye and Patrick Mills. First off Austin Daye; how far could the zags have gone this year had he waited a year for a pay check? I also believe that this year is a fairly weak draft class outside the top couple, and had he returned he would have been a top 5 pick. Same goes for Mills, he could have returned to a very experienced St Marys team, and led them to a possible sweet 16 appearance, maybe further. He could have also used one more year to improve, and i feel would have been a first rounder this year had he waited.

Look, I just want to throw this out there. If the idea of this post is to figure who wins games then fine. If the idea is to win money I wouldn't lay down on San Fran. They have been good to me lately. This bunch has got it going this month. Not saying they win the tournament but I will love to see them getting pts. right now. Thet act like they can play heads up with anyone.

Gonzaga Champions (everyone talks about St Mary's however Portland plays them tough and lets not forget they have some impressive wins over 2 Pac 10 schools) Portland/St Marys is the toss up game in the tournament if you ask me.
