Had my first losing day yesterday of the entire CBB season -- pretty good start that seems to be cooling off.
Just leans early on with quick notes, curious as always to others thoughts:
1. Cornell +14.5 (just like everyone else on the board)
2. Loyola Marymount +15.5 (if they can beat USC, they should be able to cover this number)
3. Kentucky -12.5 (UK could be hitting an early-season groove)
4. Virginia +3.5 (solely based on Bennett's familiarity with the Pac-10 and Stanford)
5. Wofford +13.5
Going to lock one in right now that sticks out:
1. Sacramento State +18.5 (-109), 2.18 to win 2 -- too many points to give the Hornets who are coming off an impressive road win against Oregon State. Sac State has lived on the road with 4 of their first 5 games on the road, and this Idaho game makes it 5 of 6. Idaho hasn't covered a 18.5 line in any of their three games this year (beat ND State by 12, lost to Texas Southern by 7, and beat Utah by 7). This is Idaho's first home game, so they should get a nice emotional bump from that, but Sac State has shown the ability to stay close on the road (outside of their opener at Rice). I'll take the handful of points and hope that Sacramento State can keep this thing from getting out of hand.

I was looking at that Idaho game too...A lot of points for Idaho to have to cover. It goes against a rule I try to stick by, which is do not bet on shitty teams. Broke that rule last night with pepperdine!
Think I am going to stick to my 1 or 2 plays a day early theory and go with Fullerton. NMST has two guys out for the semester that averaged 12 ppg last year for them. They have been less than spectacular so far.
Good luck today buddy!

Haha -- Pepperdine isn't THAT bad, but what killed them was a run in the second half at around the 11 to 5 minute mark where they couldn't buy a bucket. They were hanging around just fine till that point. I only put 1 unit on it cause I wasn't as confident in that one as I was the CSUF play.
Fullerton looks like a good play but I'm gonna lay off. I'll root for CSUF for you though

K4 -- To be honest, I didn't really keep accurate records last year, this is my first year doing so. I started on fire on UCLA plays and think at one point I was like 11-2 on them, but I tailed off after that. I'm probably a losing capper in the long run, but I'm working on improving my game and hopefully reversing that trend. I've learned a lot of lessons over the past 2 years of taking this seriously, and I try to avoid making the same mistakes twice. Bankroll management has been the hardest part.

I got second hand info. My head coach was at the UCLA game last night, and said that Pep was terrible, and that UCLA was not far behind at this point. We both can be hard to impress at times, so I have to take that into consideration.
Why did you drop Cornell off the card?
Might add Sac St if the line is right at my book.

Hoops -- thanks for the inside info. The Cornell drop is just basically because it seems to be a little too popular here on the boards. When that situation happens, it usually causes me pause.

Kapono.....Wofford is pretty popular here on the boards today also. How do you differentiate between staying on Wofford, but dropping your play on Cornell?

fennster -- Great question. I don't have a good explanation really, but I think the best explanation is that I liked Cornell after reading some other cappers thoughts and added them as a lean, but I liked Wofford based on my own analysis. I have more faith in plays/leans I arrive at on my own than those that are heavily influenced by other people's thoughts.
