The season is finally upon us... disclaimer, I am a huge Cuse fan, but I try to be as objective as I can when it comes to capping them.

LOCKED IN
CUSE -21 (-120)
My boys from upstate NY will be ready today... Boeheim goes for win number 800, and I'm telling you I think this loss to LeMoyne is the best thing to happen to this young team.  They ran man-to-man the entire game so you can't take that as a proper reflection of this team defensively.  Wes Johnson is going to come out tonight and put up 25 points... been watching him and he's legit.  Albany's stud Will Harris, will have his hands full with SU's frontcourt and their starting PG is suspended tonight.  This Cuse team will not take Albany lightly.  In the past ten years, Cuse is 3-0 ATS when laying 20 or more points in their first game.

from albany and follow these teams very closely along with my alma mater SIENA who is actually ranked this year i think this game stays within the number tonite IMO and will wait for this line to climb and hit before gametime, BOL regardless

I love the angle here. That loss will wake this team up. Albany also is without a true outside shooter to break  the zone.

Rick Jackson might be the next big thing out of Syracuse since Carmelo.

Don't think he's as fluid as 'Melo but he's a baller for sure.

Still can't believe Johnny Flynn got drafted, hehe. Maybe he'll prove me wrong and not be a bust. Like... some Syracuse kid the Bulls drafted. Cough, cough.

Oh, and if some NBA team draft Rautins, i'd like to smack that scout. Real hard.

UNC has won their season openers since 2002 by an average of 24 ppg.  No question who has the better talent... but there are a lot of question marks for this UNC team.  How well can you replace Ty Lawson, Tyler Hansbrough, and Wayne Ellington?  Will Deon Thompson and Ed Davis be as good without those graduating seniors getting them the looks?  FIU will play uptempo and push the ball a lot... I think they get their chances to score and I don't see UNC winning by more than 25 points.

Our front court is gonna be crazy this year as long as they can stay out of foul trouble.  Deshonte Riley will be a big time defender, Kris Joseph is coming into his own this year and Wes Johnson though a transfer, has been in the system a year already.

Rautins will never make it in the NBA... he's got Euro-league written all over him, just like a bunch of other cuse grads from the early 2000's like Terrence Roberts and Demetrius Nichols.

Let's not forget that Gerry McNamara is the grad ass't coach for this team... we all questioned who would replace his heart and we got Jonny Flynn.  No we have to see if Scoop or Brandon Triche can assume some of that responsibility.

30 points is a lot of points, I like it as well. You know FIU will be jacked up for this game too. Any chance Roy lets off the peddle if they get up 20 so as not to embarrass Isaiah?

I was going through FIU roster they brought in some serious talent! How in the world did they lose to a NAIA school. I am assuming they are still adjusting to whats Isiah is trying to teach. I think you might be on to something here as my boys lost a ton. We will dominate the paint but when it come to guard play I think we might be very turnover prone at times this season. Did you know that the players UNC LOST they took with them 248 3's MADE OUT OF 264  that were made.

Anyways this is why I am staying form this game just a lot of tangibles form both sides that need to be answered. GL buddy! Looking at CUSE...

I don't think so... I don't believe the two have any major ties like that.  However, I do think if UNC is up big, they'll use it as a teaching session to get some half court sets going.

Ginyard will have his hands full.  

Roy isnt going to lay off the peddle either.  They had a private scrimmage vs. Vandy and it did not go well so he will want to make a statement to his players tonight.  These freshman will run for a full 40 min I wouldnt be surprised if UNC wont by 40

As to the ? About DT and Davis- Yes, they will.

I am still shocked where people ranked their frontcourt (Rivals 6th best)? I mean, guys like Zeller and frosh Henson off the bench?

They may not have the proven outside shooting, but they will still spread it out so Ginyard and Drew can drive and dump.
