Monday's projections (using last year's numbers): UNC -15.5 (144.5) tOSU -16.5 (143) SYR -11.5 (138.5) Cal -5.5 (135.5)
I will admit the side projections aren't very good, but Cal could shoot lights out and kill the Racers if last year was any indication. Randle and Patty Christopher are back along with Boykin and Gutierrez who can infuriate anyone's PG/SG.
Gotta think Syracuse will be out taking no prisoners after all the pub regarding the loss to Lemoyne
Unsure how tOSU will do without Mullens in the middle, but they do get Lighty back to help take some pressure off Turner and Diebler.

Being the 1st game of the season I'm taking Alcorn St to cover this +35.5 vs Ohio St...can they cover these 5 TD's...lol...Ohio St wins but by 20-25 ..that's my guess here....Good luck & hope everyone makes some this 2009-2010 NCAA BB season

After disappointing season the Racers return 5 starters and last yr's strong finish in OVC could be a hint of what we can expect from them. Key for them is their guards, with Sr Danero Thomas, 12.6, capable of big games and Issac Miles, 10.6 3.8 A.
But with that said, Cal's expectations are even greater. Bears are many's preseason fav for first P 10 title in 50 yrs and their backcourt seniors Randle and Christopher just too much for Racers. I expect Coach Montgomery to have drilled home the lessons of last yr's late season collapse, and for the Bears to be ready to go.
Racers might keep it close thru 20, so we'll be looking to see what half lines are, but by the final buzzer Cal covers the 13 with more than a few to spare.

i kinda think that syracuse unc and cal are all overrated in these early polls a bit. i got a hard time backing a god awful team like fiu in this game though and think syracuse will be focused after the lemoyne embarrassment. murray appears to be the only decent dog outta the bunch IMO, i will grant that haas is a tough place to play at, but this is murrays only real chance at a powerhouse this season.

I'd be careful on the UNC total....Without Ty Lawson, they wont be able to get up and down the court as fast and wont nearly put up the #'s they put up last year. I think they will be more of a half court team and there defense should be very solid.
