Jay Wright suspends 10 games for one arrest with a "small amount" of marijuana

"Wiggins was found to be driving with a suspended licence while both players were also in possession of alcohol. The report also stated that a small amount of marijuana was found at the scene but neither player was charged as campus police could not determine possession."

For that Wiggins misses 2 games, and Dyson the same... although they had to suspend him 30 days MANDATORY BY THE NCAA... as it was not his FIRST failed test not his SECOND failed test but his THIRD failed drug test... of course UConn welcomed him back immediately after that

If Jay Wright coached UConn, they may not have a basketball program anymore

Applauding Jay Wright for a university decision.

Redding was arrested in mid-August after Radnor (Pa.) Township police, investigating a car accident on the Villanova campus, discovered marijuana in his parked car. The university allowed Redding to stay enrolled in school and practice with the team, but he cannot participate in any public team functions or games until Dec. 19.

Nova is a private university and probably has a more strict student code. The fact that the article states the university allowed him to stay enrolled at Nova shows this was a university matter and not a team decision.

There are universities that will suspend you from school if you are caught having sex in yoru dorm room. It all comes down to the student code and handbook for when things happen on the campus of the university.

If that was true, what would the purpose be of all those recruiting trips for HS seniors?

Not all some. Probably not any D-1 schools but there are schools that have such in their handbook.

Pitino just had 2 Louisville players arrested, one had to be tased twice.  He quickly announced they would not miss one practice or one game.  WIDE disparity in how these things get handled.

jpero- 1st off, I can tell you that the local cops (Radnor, Haverford, Ardmore) and the rest of Main Line PA hates Nova there. Its absolutely absurd, cause its why the are has SO much money around it now. They bust them for anything they can. I, as most know here, am a huge fan of Wright. He is a lil more strick, but the worst thing they get caught with is the 1-800-Kittles case. They find different ways to give them things, but very different places.

BTW- Is anyone watching the Georgetown (KY) vs. Ville game right now? Ville will be a early fade, take them late team
