#1 Posted: 10/21/2009 6:33:16 PM National title futures are posted on 5Dimes, and some of them have me really confused.
Louisville +1400, behind only Kansas, Kentucky, North Carolina, Texas and Duke.
Alabama at +1800. They aren't even a tournament team. No reason they should be ahead of Villanova, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Washington, Ga Tech, Cal, Illinois, Ok State, K-State, etc.
The top three are Kansas (425), Kentucky (500) and North Carolina (800).
Teams I think you are getting pretty solid value on (I think can make a Final Four/Elite Eight run): Texas (1150), Michigan State (1500), Purdue (2300), Villanova (2500), Washington (4500), Ohio State (4500), .California (6500), Illinois (7500), Michigan (10000)

#3 Posted: 10/21/2009 6:48:43 PM Tons of value on Seton Hall +15000 and Mississippi State +12500
Michigan +10000
BIG Value bet on Villanova +2500
Its a wide open year and theres lots of value if you can find the right teams.

#5 Posted: 10/21/2009 7:33:05 PM bama at +1800? wow. that is very surprising.... and im a homer.
seriously, we have key injuries and some transfers with grant coming in as the new head coach of the tide. that being said, we will finally be a strong fundamental team with the obvious addition of better coaching. but those odds are waaaaay off. we should be around 10000 or so imho.

#6 Posted: 10/21/2009 7:37:02 PM i just checked sportsbook and we are +10,000 to win the national title.... thats more like it. the 1800 must be a mistake on 5dimes' part and im sure will be changed as soon as they see no action on that line.
bama was +1500 to win the national championship in football this year... and they started out as a top ten team. thats just a mistake imo with the basketball team future.

#7 Posted: 10/21/2009 7:38:34 PM Louisville & UConn should each be about +3000....
Alabama should be about +7000-+8000
Syracuse should be +15000, not +1800
Even Pittsburgh at +4500 is overvalued.. they should be AT LEAST +10000.
UCLA should NOT be +1900
Notre Dame +3300? wtf?
I hope 5 dimes is consistent with overvaluing these teams.... we could make a ton of money just fading the Pitts, UConns, Syracuses early in the year.

#8 Posted: 10/21/2009 7:41:17 PM The Big East always seems overvalued early in the season |

#10 Posted: 10/21/2009 9:14:14 PM There was some places that had Cuse up even w/ the Heels at +1100, I almost choked.
Saw Dickie V had his preseason top 5 on Mike & Mike, Puke was 5. I need even the biggest Pukie tell me how they think they are a top 5 team. Thye made it to the sweet 16 cause they played no one and got a nice seed, they don'tmake it past that round again.
Teams I think are Elite 8 right now- KU, MSU, Tucky, Nova, Tex, UNC.
Team I have to see how they are, read more on, but think could make runs to sweet 16- GT, Cal, Okie ST, Miss ST, SHU, Cincy |

PU was the sleeper team 2 years ago. Teams are becoming more familiar with this group. They will win big games this year as it is no surprise cause we saw it 2 years ago and last year.

#15 Posted: 10/23/2009 9:49:40 AM UCLA should be like +7500.
I think there is good value in a solid Washington squad at +4500 and California at +6500.
