Friday's crap game was at least a 50/50 proposition against the Zags since we have avery young Terp team and....oh yeah.....the Zags are a Final Four caliber team. Nothing went right, the three that were dropping the night before against Spartie would not drop and the Zags killed the Terps inside.
Tonight we get the Hoyas for the first time in years. This is a huge game fro D.C. area bragging rights but more importantly recruiting. The Terps would like nothing more than to pick up a second Top 15 win in four days, especially since it's the Hoyas. Emotions and motivation will be at a very high level in this one for both teams.
The Hoyas feature a balanced attack with good guard play and a couple of nice players inside in Summers and Monroe. The Terps would appear to have little to no answer for the Hoyas inside based on a 6'11" guy roaming the lane for the Hoyas BUT I think the Terps will rebound better than the Hoyas AS A TEAM today. The Terp guards are above average rebounders and since we are playing three guards at a time, they have to scrap like they have been. I expect this one to be uptempo. I think Mosley and Bowie will see alot of playing time today along with Hayes and Vasquez so guards will dictate the pace. Like I said Thursday before the Michigan St. win, the Terps have got to have a player other than Vasquez contribute 12-15 points to have any shot at winning. Never expected it to be Dave Neal the other night but it just goes to show that as long as SOMEONE other than Vasquez gives us good points, we are a different team.
Tucker really needs to step his game up soon or he may lose his starting role. Milbourne should be a bit of a match-up problem for the Terps today also and needs to start showing up.
I think ones goes easily over the total of 139. No way the Terps slow this thing down and play in the half court any more than they have to. I also like the +5 as I think Maryland will want (and need) this game more than the Hoyas. While G'Town dislikes Maryland, the Hoyas have been on cruise control performance-wise for the last 3-5 years. The Terps on the other hand have been one of the biggest underachievers since the National Cahmpionship in 2002. The Terps will have more of a chip on their shoulder in this one and should keep it close. I could see them winning SU provided the Terps scoring is balanced. Playing the motivational angle big in this one.

What scares me the most about this is Maryland's inside presence. I hope they can hold their own. Would be another great win for the ACC and knock GTown right out of the top 25

The Zags were a match-up nightmare for this year's Terp team. They have four guys 6'10"+. They also have big men that can shoot the three and go inside. The Zags killed us inside but I do not see too many teams outside of Carolina being able to do that this year. Yes, we will lose some rebounding battles but the Zags are just great inside.....to go with great guards, a great coach...LOL.

Gotta stick this one out IMO... 2 points is the second half line. Maryland can't play that badly again second half... and if they do... I will have no part of it
