let's start from the beginning briefly

now some stats
1st serve percentage - novak small edge about 3%
double faults novak has more double faults despite playing one less game in fact he committed 6 against roger
first serve % on pts won ali is at 86% ..86% freakin' amazing novak is a distant 77%
total games avg ali at 34 approx and novak 30 which is a good reason for me to stay away from the total as i leaned to the over thinking this could go 4 sets

though novak leads that last set i ask you this
with tsonga's 85-56 ace diffential and the fact that he is serving 221km/h and that he has won 86% when the ball is in play on the first set the question is how the phuck is novak going to break him?
tennis has, is and always will be about serving. there were doubts with novak's 56% last game going against roger then he serves mid 70% but this is a dif animal. one of my bigger plays offered by the greek is aces without any handicap! yes tsonga su -150 i love that one.
the only caveat i see behind tsonga is the fact he played doubles as well also playing an extra game in singles. i don't see the extra playing time bothering him too much as he has had an extra days rest over novak.
i have read some great threads and don't dispute anyone's write up. novak does have a nice deep ball and IF he can duplicate that then i see a case for him. to me though roger gave him that match more so than he earned it - much like ana got a gift from daniela and i ended up fading ana's ass.
when he dismantled nadal - i saw a complete game. speed, stamina, cool under pressure, the booming serve. the awesome net game and range at the net as well.
i gave the above stats and how they got here simply to point out that overall tsonga leads in the stats category all that despite having to play an extra game and going through a tougher draw facing 3 top 15players.
i believe there will be more action on novak as he is more a recognizable name and he dethroned the champ so we will likely get money coming in from guys who normally don't cap tennis
