What has bugged about Agassi more than any of this filth he is selling is the WIG.  All those years of rock star hair, Canon commercials he was a fraud all along.  My wife loved the guy more than any athlete, like many teen girls probably there first athlete crush because of the hair, and it was fake?  what a schmuck, a complete a fraud, cmon, It reminds me of the day I realized Michael Jordan was not the man I thought he was.

Agassi is a unmannered man. He said about Ilie Nastase "is a big romanian but stupid". How can you say that about a man who you never know.

Very arrogant and pathetic after you climb the mountain and forget from where did you start. I dont know an expresion in english language. my bad.

You guys are all idiots...obviously not accomplished athletes yourselves.  If you were, you wouldn't make such stupid comments.  MichaelPaul, obviously you didn't watch the entire 60 minutes interview.  Agassi hated tennis because his dad made him play for 6 hours a day from the time he was 3 years old.  He didn't make the choice to be a tennis player, he was groomed to be one by a demanding father.  You can't understand why he would hate tennis.  Just because something makes you rich you should love it???  Who cares if he wore a wig.  That was part of the image that made him a famous millionaire.  He started going bald at age 17.  His sponsors told him he had to wear it as part of his contract.  Lastly, MichaelPaul, he did drugs for one year of his life.  That doesn't make him a drug addict you schmuck.  Look up the definition of addict...and look at what he is doing now.  He opened up a school with millions of his own money for underprivileged children in Las Vegas among many other charities.  What are you doing to give back?  He's married to the best female tennis player of all time and is raising two kids.  I think it's safe to say that he turned things around and is winning at the most important thing...LIFE.  What a bunch of judgemental morons you guys are!

Your post made very little sense.  Your making it easy to prove what  moron you are.  I'm not even gonna attempt a direct response.  Agassi admitted he made mistakes.  It took a lot of balls to admit those mistakes in the hopes of inspiring others going through similar shit.  I'm sure your perfect right MichaelPaul?  No mistakes in your life right?  Freaken loser degenerate.

everybody makes mistakes in their lives, he clearly regrets what he has done, and its not like he cheated using performance enhancing drugs...agassi still a well respected man in my book..he has done a lot for the inspiration of american tennis.

but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

So he didnt use PHD's but its much more acceptable that he threw tennis matchs? Im sorry but that is BY FAR worse then someone taking some sort of performance enhancing supp. To throw a tennis match for money is prolly the single most disrespectfull thing to do in any sport. It shows a complete lack of respect for yourself, your opponent and the overall game of tennis.

If its true that he actually threw matches, that is far worse then anything Mcguire, Clemens etc did by taking performance enhancing drugs.

Safin: Agassi should relinquish titles

 

PARIS -- Former No. 1-ranked Marat Safin believes that Andre Agassi should give his tennis titles back after confessing he tested positive for a banned substance during his career and lied about it to the ATP.

Agassi admitted in his autobiography "Open" that he used crystal meth in 1997 and failed a drug test, a result he says was thrown out after he lied by saying he "unwittingly" took the substance.

Safin, who plans to retire this month, said in an interview with L'Equipe newspaper on Tuesday that Agassi should "give his titles, his money and his Grand Slam titles" back.

"I'm not defending the ATP, but what he said put it in a delicate position," Safin said. "The ATP allowed him to win a lot of tournaments, a lot of money. It kept his secret. Why does he need to be so cruel with it?"

Agassi, who retired in 2006, won 60 titles, including eight Grand Slams, during his career. He recently told The Associated Press that he had to speak about his lies because he couldn't live with it anymore.

"If he is as fair play as he says he is, he has to go to the end," Safin said. "You know, the ATP has a bank account and he can give the money back if he wants."

Safin, who will retire after this week's Paris Masters, won the 2000 U.S. Open and 2005 Australian Open. The 29-year-old Russian said he isn't going to write his autobiography when his career will be over.

"Me, I don't need money," he said. "The question is: Why did he do this? What is done is done. Does he hope to sell more books? It's absolutely stupid."

Earlier this month, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) said they were investigating whether to lay fresh charges against Agassi.

Iceman perhaps you are incapable of looking at both sides of Agassi, we are happy for what he has done NOW for his life and millions of kids, with his bankroll I am pleased he is giving back.  BUT the reason for the post is the FRAUD he is now telling the world he was, obviously he was haunted and this clears his soul.  I love the "Dad made me do it" bullshit, tell Dad NO!!  I don't want to play tennis, that never happens in this country huh?  Telling the parents you don't want to do something, especially sports.  But then to stand there in front of millions watching on TV and the paid gate and TANK a match because you hate the game and don't want to play?  How do you defend the guy? DONT PLAY IN THE TOURNAMENT A-HOLE. But Pete Rose is scum and banned for life, and how the hell is it that much different?  And about the WIG?  Where do I start, you used the fake hair to get the contracts, FAKE HAIR that brought him the fame, teen girls, Brooke Shields, (hell probably why she left him), money and endorsements, so if you hate your life and fame, don't wear a wig.  He is a complete fraud and sadly they are hundreds of athletes just like him I am sure.  If you cannot see that you are too in some aspect of your life.

This will be my last post on this issue.  Agassi said he tanked some tennis matches because he didn't feel like being out on the court and didn't want to play the next day.  If any of you played tennis at a semi-competitive level, you would know there are days where you really don't feel like being out on the court.  Multiply that by 100.  I would say that almost every single professional player has tanked a match at some point in their career.  They just don't admit it.  You've probably seen sometimes when betting on tennis where a great player will come out and get smoked by some unknown douche bag.  Tennis can be such a mind fuck that sometimes it is easier to live with yourself if you lose a match on your terms rather than lose to your opponent.  Thats the truth. Agassi is one of the very few players to admit it, but trust me, it happens way more often than you think.  Regarding "dad made me do it", it's hard to tell your father no when you are 3 years old.  It's also hard to say no at an older age when you've been groomed since you were 3 yrs. old to become the family's money maker. None of us can relate to what he went through with his father so it's stupid to give our 2 cents on what he should've done.  Lastly, who cares that he wore a wig!  I don't give a fuck if he wore a wig, had fake teeth...whatever!  Are we going to start judging professional athletes based on what it takes to make their appearance.  If Tom Brady comes out and says he had a hair implant or a nose job does that make him a lesser quarterback or person?  If Serena says she had her tits done, does that make her a lesser player?  Who cares morons!!  I judge athletes based on what they do in their sport.  If they take performance enhancing drugs...thats a different story.  Agassi didn't take performance enhancing drugs and thats all I care about.  The guy gave millions of people endless hours of entertainment during his career.  He was one of the greatest players that ever played.  He was also one of the very few who won all 4 grand slams on different surfaces.  He and Sampras had one of the best rivalries any sport has ever seen.  These are the things he should be judged for.  Not for wearing a wig.  Give me a break.  You've got to be kidding me people!

Great post man, especially about tanking matches.... Tennis is, without question, the most shady sport out there in terms of this happening.  That's why eating chalk in tennis is the surest and quickest way to the poorhouse

michaelpaul you are a disaster....a little jealous are we, perhaps of how much $$$ andre has made??   you sound ridiculous, are you saying that if nike offered you millions, but you had to sport a wig, you would say no?    cmon buddy cut the crap!    i know many people myself included would do the same in his position, hey for a few million, why not?   and you have never tried any drug, is that right?   his book is saying that he made mistakes just like many other normal people in the everyday world, and his life wasnt what the cameras + media made it out to be.   i guess you dont see that.  then you want to quote safin of all people, please.   maybe you should realize that andre has donated huge amounts of $$$ to schools for underpriveleged children, outside of the usa i might add, along with tons of charity events too.  he is a stud and is just admitting he made some mistakes, grow up.  what have you contributed to his planet?   thanks for coming
